A creative Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has crafted a picture-perfect cosplay of Sailor Moon's Tuxedo Mask for their villager. New Horizons, which released in March of last year, is the newest entry in Nintendo's long-running town simulation series. Sailor Moon, meanwhile, is a popular anime and manga franchise which was popular worldwide throughout the 1990s. Although this is not the first time Animal Crossing crossed with a beloved show, it is a fantastic homage to a popular meme.

Player expression and creativity are major aspects of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with the game giving players the tools to highly customize their own personal island and villager, and this emphasis on creation naturally leads to a large number of impressive in-game creations. One creative Reddit user recently revealed that they had recreated 'Zero to Hero' in Animal Crossing with a video featuring a song from the classic Disney film Hercules. The impressive video tribute reportedly took two months to complete, with custom-painted backgrounds and post-production editing combined with in-game creations in order to complete the musical piece.

Reddit user tato_1988 recently unveiled an in-game Animal Crossing: New Horizons cosplay, with their villager dressing as Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon. Tuxedo Mask is a prominent character in the anime/manga franchise, serving as an elusive ally and love interest to the titular character Sailor Moon. The customized villager perfectly resembles the character, complete with his iconic mask and hat. The title of tato_1988's post, "My job here is done," makes reference to a meme associated with the franchise in which Tuxedo Mask makes a dramatic exit despite Sailor Moon claiming he "didn't do anything."

Over one year after release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to receive new post-launch content and seasonal events. Animal Crossing's Bunny Day event, which coincides with the Easter holiday and the spring season, began on March 28 and is set to end on April 4. Last year's Bunny Day event served as the very first holiday event for New Horizons, but it was met with quite negative reception from players. While the developers made some changes to Bunny Day 2021 in response to last year, many players are still anticipating the end of the event.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows players to create some truly unique and impressive works of art using a set of fairly simple tools. While customized villagers are quite common, very few players are able to create a cosplay that is as spot-on as tato_1988's Tuxedo Mask. Every article of clothing, the background, and the pose all serve as a tribute to one of the Sailor Moon franchise's most beloved and recognizable characters.
