When the rain starts to pour, an Animal Crossing: New Horizons player's recreation of the fountain from Friends is there. Nintendo's community simulation title, which allows players to build and manage their own island village, launched back in March 2020. Friends, meanwhile, is a popular American sitcom that ran on NBC from 1994 to 2004.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons gives players a variety of creation tools, allowing them to use their imagination and build any number of unique villages. One artistically talented New Horizons player recently used the game's bulletin board, which lets players sketch in-game art, to create an illustration of Deku from the manga series My Hero Academia. The impressive drawing, which is brought to life in a short time-lapse video, is sketched and fully colored using the relatively limited mechanic for use in an art trade. Many New Horizons players have also created artwork in honor of Pride Month, which celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community throughout the month of June. These in-game creations include sweaters, hats, dresses and village paths which are all adorned with the rainbow Pride flag.

Reddit user Jakesleah created a crossover between Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Friends by bringing the sitcom's iconic fountain into the world of the Nintendo title. The memorable opening of Friends features the show's six main characters lounging on a brown couch which is sitting alongside a lamp in front of a park fountain. Part of the intro also has the protagonists holding different colored umbrellas. Jakesleah's New Horizons recreation includes all of these iconic elements, complete with a recreation of the Friends logo on the ground in front of the couch.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players like Jakesleah continue to complete memorable new creations, but the same can not be said for developer Nintendo. While seasonal events frequently cycle for the game's player base to experience, the game has yet to receive a truly substantial expansion since its launch in 2020. Many Animal Crossing fans are clamoring for the addition of features, including the return of features that were present in previous Animal Crossing titles. The Roost Cafe, Tortimer Island, an expanded museum, and additional activities are all mechanics which could be introduced or brought back from previous installments in the franchise.

New Horizons boasts a large and highly creative player base which frequently produces a wealth of impressive builds and creations. Jakesleah's incredibly faithful recreation of the Friends fountain nails every detail, right down to the show's logo, which demonstrates a deep love for both the show and New Horizons. As long as there are creative tools to use, gamers will figure out brand-new ways to utilize them.
