A clever Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan has brought Pokémon Colosseum's Phenac City to island life. The creator shared a look at their island inspired by the stunning water city's structure, including its gorgeous fountain, its staircases, and more. The island design just goes to show how many ways exist for a player to pay tribute to their other favorite games within New Horizons.

In Pokémon Colosseum, a 2004 GameCube title, players control a young man named Wes and rescue several Shadow Pokémon alongside a sidekick named Rui. Rather than randomly encountering Pokémon, players actually take these Shadow Pokémon from fellow Trainers in the game. Once Wes captures these Pokémon, he can earn their trust and "purify" their darkened hearts. Pokemon Colosseum takes place in the dry desert region of Orre, and in it, players can discover the oasis-themed water city known as Phenac City. The city contains a few interesting structures, including Phenac Stadium, a Pokemon Center, and the Prestige Precept Gym.

Reddit user IanThaGame has captured the essence of Phenac City in their Animal Crossing: New Horizons island. In a video on Reddit, the creator walked through their Pokémon remake layout in New Horizons and compared it to scenes from the city in Pokémon Colosseum. The player added a customizable stone fountain in the center of a stone path and surrounded the structure with small zodiac symbols to mimic the similar structures in Phenac City.

Behind the fountain, the player created a river with waterfalls between two stone staircases. Although Ian could not exactly recreate the gym in Phenac City, they used New Horizons' museum instead. The creator even carefully placed their Able Sisters and Nook's Cranny stores to mimic the other buildings in Phenac City. Ian's Phenac City recreation is not available to explore just yet, but they did reveal that a Dream Address will be coming soon for fans to visit the island.

The player did a great job of rebuilding Phenac City in New Horizons without exactly copying each structure. New Horizons may be somewhat limited compared to other life simulations in terms of the items that players can build, but that hasn't stopped fans from letting their creativity flow. Pokémon crossovers have been particularly popular in New Horizons, though players have also paid tribute to their favorite movies and other popular franchises like The Legend of Zelda. There's nothing better than the sense of accomplishment that players get from using one of their favorite video games to represent their other favorites. It's always a treat to see what Animal Crossing: New Horizons players come up with next.
