An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has shared a hilarious video showing their player character inadvertently pushing a tree directly onto Celeste. The game may be known as a cozy and non-violent Nintendo release, yet it seems players can cause havoc if they so choose. Previous "attacks" from gamers include Animal Crossing villager Quillson getting kicked in the head, but dropping a tree onto Celeste might just take the cake.

2020's Animal Crossing has been a resounding hit with players, offering the chance for gamers to connect and visit each others' island paradises. The game is a life simulation set on a deserted island, which players must fill with villagers and build upon to create the perfect getaway. While many believe Animal Crossing needs more content, others are still happy to putter around their unique worlds, designing their islands and teasing their villagers.

One Animal Crossing fan named ArtemisVG took to Reddit to share a clip of an island mishap involving poor Celeste. In the video, the player chops down a tree, which appears to land right on top of the beloved owl. Fortunately, Nintendo hasn't programmed any violence (other than bashing villagers with tools) into the game, meaning Celeste will continue her visits to the island, despite this accidental attack on her life. The funny clip has seen a lot of love from fellow ACNH players, receiving close to 15k upvotes at the time of writing. When asked what happened to Celeste following the unfortunate accident, the original poster ArtemisVG joked: "She became a star in the sky".

While Celeste won't hold a grudge, players who try something similar against the owl can try to appease her with an Animal Crossing lunar rock garden. The clever fan-made design utilizes game items including the Rocket and Satellite, as well as custom path designs that mimic the Moon's surface. The garden won't guarantee more visits from Celeste, but it will at least look beautiful on any island. Celeste is a fan-favorite character not just because of her adorable design, but also due to her rare appearances. While she only visits islands every so often, players who encounter Celeste will be gifted a DIY Recipe for speaking with her. Celeste's recipes tend to be some of the most popular in Animal Crossing, and include Wand, Astrological, and Space recipes.

While there's still lots for designers to do in the game, it's hoped new content is on its way. Nintendo of America boss Doug Bowser confirmed an Animal Crossing update is coming, but there's no date yet in place. ACNH fans have been pondering over what the update could bring, with many hoping for a return to the franchise's roots with the addition of Brewster's Roost coffee shop, Tortimer Island, and more. For now, assaulting villagers with trees might just have to be enough to keep players occupied.
