Nintendo has confirmed the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct will be taking place next week, revealing the date and time that fans can tune in. The company previously announced that an Animal Crossing-focused livestream would be coming this month, though an exact date hadn't yet been confirmed.

Animal Crossing has been one of the biggest Nintendo Switch successes since its launch in 2020, but the game has steadily drawn more and more criticism from players. New Horizons tasks users with building up an island paradise, growing their roster of neighbours, crafting items, and collecting bugs, fish, and artwork to complete the museum's collection. Once this is done, the game doesn't give fans much reason to keep playing thanks to a lack of ongoing gameplay. ACNH has also been a disappointment to many due to features, NPCs, and items seen in previous Animal Crossing games not being available in the Nintendo Switch release. While designing in ACNH has always been popular, those looking for more gameplay have been out of luck.

Announcing the news across social media, the official Animal Crossing account stated that fans will finally be able to hear more on the game's next big update on October 15. Beginning at 7am PT, players will see "roughly 20 minutes" of information on the new content planned for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct comes just a few weeks before the content will actually launch in the game, with the update scheduled for sometime in November.

Nintendo has previously confirmed fan-favorite Animal Crossing NPC Brewster will be arriving in the new game update, bringing with him the Roost Cafe which will be located in the museum. The character is known for serving a great cup of coffee, something that will be a new addition to New Horizons. While Brewster was confirmed during September's Nintendo Direct, fans are yet to discover what the character - and the cafe - will bring to the game in terms of new content, items, and gameplay.

It's hoped Nintendo has a few more surprises planned for the upcoming Direct. As well as new gameplay, there are plenty of quality-of-life improvement fans have been asking for since the game's release, including simple fixes like the ability to bulk-buy items such as clothes or Nook Miles Tickets. Fans won't have long to wait to find out just what's coming to Animal Crossing and can experience it for themselves in November.
