Animal Crossing: New Horizons Overrated Villager - Marshal
Marshal is hands-down one of the most popular Animal Crossing villagers ever, and it's not hard to see why, with his sassy little face placed on such a cute marshmallow-like body. His popularity began with his introduction in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but far from died down with the release of New Horizons. Perhaps being the only smug squirrel available has added to his desirableness. He constant presence on many most popular villager lists is getting old for a good portion of fans, however, which also earns him a spot as one the most overrated villagers.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Overrated Villager - Ankha
Ankha's unique Egyptian design has set her apart from other Animal Crossing villagers, making her another highly attractive addition to one's New Horizons island. Her snooty personality makes her friendship a little more difficult to achieve, and perhaps playing hard-to-get makes her feel more worth it in the end for some. Feline villages are widely popular, as cats are the most searched-for Animal Crossing species. She's considered overrated and many list their reason as not seeing the appeal in this seemingly rude character.

Lazy goat Sherb differs from the previous Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers in that he is much more friendly and laid back. It's not hard to see why this adorable pastel character has become such a fan favorite. However, similar to all villagers on this list, players typically ask for millions of bells or hundreds of Nook Miles Tickets when selling or trading him - and a lot of users just can't get behind spending that much no matter how cute a villager is.

Similar to Sherb, Judy the cub's adorable pastel appearance makes her an attractive candidate as a villager to invite to live on a player's island. She has a snooty personality like Ankha, however, and will appear arrogant until she is befriended. Most Animal Crossing villagers that are deemed overrated have either a smug or snooty personality, as many fans don't understand the fuss over a character that isn't initially nice.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Overrated Villager - Raymond
It should come as no surprise to find Raymond the cat on an overrated villager list. His name probably comes up without fail when fans are asked about the most overvalued villager. There are a few distinctions that set him apart from the rest: he is the only smug cat; his heterochromia makes him the only villager with two different eye colors; and he is one of the newest villagers to appear in the Animal Crossing franchise, meaning he still doesn't have an official Amiibo card. This makes him more difficult to obtain unless players get lucky enough to have him visit their campsites or find him on a mystery island tour. This allows for those that do have him to sell Raymond for a ridiculous amount of bells or Nook Miles Tickets, which has caused a lot fans to actually resent him. If people weren't selling these "overrated" villagers for so much, it's worth wondering if Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans would view them any differently.
