The villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons range in personality from sweet to snooty and lazy to jock; These personalities clash with the other villagers and can either make it a relaxing social simulation game or a game of wills. ACNH took the world by storm in early 2020 but not long after its release, gamers were trying to get villagers off of their islands like a strategic game of chess.

The player has to live with the villagers on the island, so it should at least be a pleasant experience. However there are sometimes tantrums being thrown and fights being picked, these are some of the rudest villagers gamers may run into.

Jambette

Jambette in Animal Crossing

A normal villager, like Jambette, is normally nothing to worry about. Jambette, however, does not get along with cranky villagers. This could lead to some ruffled feathers.

Jambette's hobby is fashion. Even with a normal personality, the interest in fashion tends to make villagers have big asks of the player. Other than the average tiff with another rude villager, Jambette is the least likely to get voted off the island.

Chief

Chief in Animal Crossing

Chief is one of many wolf villagers that players may encounter, but he is the rudest wolf villager. Chief doesn't like it when the player disagrees with him and especially doesn't like it if they won't engage in competitions. Under the guise of a cute outfit and smile, Chief is actually a cranky villager.

He has the catchphrase "harrumph" to express his true boredom and annoyance. Chief curbs this boredom by spreading rumors about fellow villagers. Instead of looking for Chief, players could find other wolves like Whitney, Fang, or the best wolf villager, Audie.

Bree

Bree in Animal Crossing

Maybe it's because she is the stereotypical mouse, obsessed with cheese, or maybe it is the arrogance, but Bree is not meant to stay on the island. Like most other snooty villagers, Bree does not get along with lazy villagers but she takes it a step further and also won't hang out with jock villagers either.

Bree will team up with cranky villagers and pick fights with the jocks. When there is that much fighting and bad energy on the island there are a lot of tantrums. The player often has to pick sides when there are tantrums thrown. Avoid Bree to keep the peace.

Rasher

Rasher in Animal Crossing

Like all cranky villagers, Rasher is difficult to befriend from the beginning of the game. The trouble players will run into is when he associates with snooty, smug, and jock villagers. They will get along easily but that also means the islanders will encourage each other's irritability.

With a catchphrase like "swine," players can assume Rasher is not only referring to his species as a pig but to all villagers and players, he speaks to. Rasher gets voted off the island for his lack of empathetic vocabulary.

Olaf

Olaf in Animal Crossing

A smug anteater villager that isn't necessarily going to start fights but he might offend the player or other villagers with his ego. Olaf will go on and on about how cool he is. While Olaf will initially get along with nearly all other villager types, he may irritate the cranky villagers.

Olaf likes to dance and sports the catchphrase "whiffa," which is a Japanese reference to the Spanish word mucho, meaning a lot. Gamers will notice that Olaf truly is a lot.

Monique

Monique in Animal Crossing

With a catchphrase like "pfffffft," Monique is the snootiest of the cat villagers. Gamers also know she has a luxurious personality because she is featured on multiple K.K. Slider album covers such as Animal City, Café K.K., and K.K. Aria.

When Monique shows up on an island, she is arrogant, only talking about herself when the player interacts; And if she isn't gossiping to the player, she will be rude to the lazy villagers on the island. Monique gets voted off the island for her superiority complex.

Astrid

Astrid in Animal Crossing

Astrid looks like a rockstar kangaroo and is sometimes touted as the cutest kangaroo villager. But Astrid is not to be trusted. With an initial phrase like "my pet," the player can expect to feel a bit inferior to Astrid. And with her quote being, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," that initial feeling of being belittled will transition into feeling insulted.

If Astrid doesn't use this quote on the player she will use it to gossip about her fellow villagers. Astrid gets voted off for lack of community-building and snooty personality.

 Flip

Flip in Animal Crossing

Flip is the first jock villager on the list and one to look out for. He likes to pick fights with lazy villagers for their lack of lifting weights and when other villagers disagree with him he will throw tantrums for quite some time.

Flip gets competitive for any tournaments that may happen on a player's island. He will especially get confused at the nature of the lazy villagers when they do not match his competitiveness. Flip gets voted off for lack of teamwork.

Pancetti

Pancetti in Animal Crossing

Pancetti is a snooty villager type and loves makeup and gossiping. She will talk about herself often and gossip about the appearance of other villagers. This will cause fights between villagers that the player could get caught up in.

Pancetti also has a bad habit of losing her items all over the island. While this may not be intentionally rude, she should learn to keep better track of her things. Pancetti gets voted off the island for carelessness.

Octavian

Octavian is one of the most popular villagers in New Horizons because he is an octopus. He is also a cranky octopus. And he doesn't leave a good first impression with the catchphrase "sucker."

Octavian, like most cranky villagers, doesn't like when the player disagrees with him and will be harder to befriend. He will pick on peppy villagers for being immature and spread rumors.
