An exceptionally wholesome crossover brings Stardew Valley's peaceful farmhouse into Animal Crossing: New Horizons using tools introduced in Happy Home Paradise. Both simulation titles give players access to their own plot of land and allow them to build up and manage their own community in a lovely open-ended experience. Many gamers frequently compare Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with ConcernedApe's indie game and Nintendo's AAA title sharing similar gameplay along with a very peaceful and relaxing tone.

Released in 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest installment in Nintendo's long-running social simulation series. The title takes players to a remote tropical island and tasks them with building up an entire community, complete with non-player characters to meet and plenty of resources to collect. Homes and islands can be customized to the player's preference, meaning that each player will experience Animal Crossing: New Horizons differently. Themed seasonal events introduce new activities and items, while a huge recent update added an abundance of new options for players. Animal Crossing: New Horizons' 2.0 update and DLC, titled Happy Home Paradise, released in November and filled the game with even more content for gamers to discover.

Using resources added in the Happy Home Paradise DLC, Reddit user mabelsapron has turned an Animal Crossing: New Horizons home into the farm from Stardew Valley. The cozy crossover authentically recreates the indie title's typical farm layout, with the two-story house boasting a recognizable slate roof and side shed. Different crops are laid out in square sections, reflecting the 8-bit art style of ConcernedApe's Stardew Valley. While graphics obviously make the build visually distinct from Stardew Valley, mabelsapron has made the recreation match as closely as practically possible.

Following the launch of Stardew Valley in 2016, developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone recently announced a new upcoming game titled Haunted Chocolatier. The anticipated title will see players run their very own chocolate shop while also exploring a unique town and battling against ghosts to acquire materials. Stardew Valley and Haunted Chocolatier appear to share many elements in common, such as a focus on quiet small-town life and battling creatures to gather materials. However, Haunted Chocolatier is also expected to evolve many of Stardew Valley's mechanics such as the sales process, social interactions and combat mechanics.

With both titles sharing so much in common, a fan-made crossover between Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a perfect way to pay tribute to both titles. The two games allow players to relax and manage their own towns in a quiet and non-hostile environment, with an emphasis placed on creativity and player freedom. The cute crossover created by mabelsapron perfectly translates Stardew Valley's farm into Animal Crossing: New Horizons, demonstrating both the similarities and differences between the games.
