Special edition Animal Crossing: New Horizons-themed Nintendo Switch consoles may be back in stock soon at some retailers. The themed consoles first appeared for sale earlier this year, sporting cool-toned green and blue Joy-Cons, a dock decked out in Tom Nook art, and a custom textured design on the back on the console.

Unsurprisingly, the special edition Switch consoles turned out to be as popular as they are adorable. Released just a week before the hit Animal Crossing: New Horizons game, the limited edition consoles quickly sold out at both physical and online retailers. At the time, Nintendo didn’t to commit to when players could expect to see the special Switch consoles back in stores, or if they would ever be widely available again.

Now, it seems like Animal Crossing fans may get a second shot at picking up their own island life-themed Switch. According to Twitter deal tracker Wario64, several ads have popped up on Twitter and Facebook recently, advertising restocks of the console coming on October 9th. The Twitter ad is from Nintendo’s Australian Twitter account, but the ad on Facebook comes from Nintendo’s primary page. Though both ads date the Switch restock for October 9th, several Twitter users have posted images of consoles they’ve already found at stores in the comments below Wario64’s post.

At the time that the Animal Crossing-themed Switch first appeared, fans could only guess at what a huge sensation New Horizons would end up being. Long-time fans of the series may have been eagerly awaiting its release, but its ultimate success likely came as a surprise even to them. Upon its release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons smashed sales records, selling more digital copies in its first month than any game in history. By May, it had already sold as many copies as Nintendo expected it to sell over the game’s entire lifetime. Given its massive success, it’s no surprise that fans would be eager to get their hands on the next round of special edition Switch consoles, and those who were able to find one the first time around are likely feeling lucky.

It may not be the best time for Nintendo to restock its Animal Crossing Switch consoles, with a whole range of next-gen Xbox and PlayStation consoles coming in November. At $299, a new Switch costs as much as the considerably more powerful Xbox Series S. However, the consoles target much different audiences, and for hardcore Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans, paying a premium for a beautiful new Switch seems like a fair deal.
