Animal Crossing: New Horizons has finally introduced Leif and his shop to island representatives everywhere. With the newest update earlier this week, Leif has arrived at player's islands just in time for Earth Day (or, in the Animal Crossing world, Nature Day).

With the introduction of this beloved Animal Crossing character staple also comes with the introduction of shrubs and bushes. Leif shows up just in time for Nature Day, an event that helps celebrate the conservation of the environment. It is no wonder why Leif was brought to the player's islands. Leif brings players shrubs and bushes that can be used for numerous different purposes. From make-shift fences to general island decor, bushes and shrubs will be able to help players reimagine what their island's aesthetic could be. In order for players to access these sweet new ways of decorating islands, players will have to first locate Leif's garden store.

Although Leif does not technically have a shop, he still will stop by a player's island almost weekly with an adorable pull cart. The hope is that Leif will eventually build a permanent building, but it's possible he will only stick around for the spring and summer seasons. Because of what he sells, it is hard to see him still coming to islands in the winter. But nothing in the world of Animal Crossing is impossible!

Leif is an adorable sloth gardener that first appeared in the series during Animal Crossing: New Leaf. In the original game, Leif helped players weed their towns and ensure the town does not become overrun with weeds. Unlike his counterpart to the update, Crazy Redd, Leif is not a permanent fixture to islands.

As of currently, Leif is working as a traveling vendor much like Kicks or Label. He will occasionally stop by a player's island and sell bushes, shrubs, and flowers that Nook's Cranny may not offer. Leif's arrival is a much-needed breath of fresh air for players searching for all the flowers and their hybrids. Leif will finally provide the flowery relief of wasting Nook Miles on Mystery Tours that may not yield any flower results.

Finding Leif's garden shop is actually easier than what was anticipated. Just like any other new day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players should be sure to stop by the town square before anything else. At least once a week, Leif will open shop right in the square. He will be set up with a cart and is ready to sell players whatever flowers or shrubs they may want or need.

As mentioned before, Leif is a gardener. Much like any other gardener, Leif loves plants but absolutely hates weeds. In fact, Leif's hatred of weeds is so deep that he is willing to pay 20 bells per weed brought to him. This is a quick way for players to remove an item that is persistently on the island and needs constant removing. Additionally, Leif's price on weeds is double the price of what Nook's Cranny would give for weeds.

It is also worth noting that, much like Kicks, a player's friends can come to visit Leif and purchase whatever plants Leif is providing that day. The Leif's of different islands will sell different shrubs and flowers and anyone can purchase these difficult to obtain plants.
