If you don't have enough Nook Miles for a Nook Miles ticket, or you just don't want to take the trip to fill your pockets with hybrid flowers, you're in luck. There is a way to make your own hybrid flowers that is free of charge... but can take a bit of time. As long as you have a shovel, a watering can, and some nearby flowers you can get started growing your own hybrid flowers.
In addition to the tools listed above, you will need to make sure you have flowers that are different colors. The species of flowers do not matter, but they must be one of the four primary-colored flowers. Players will also need a clear area to plant their flowers. The area does not have to be too large, but the size of the area will affect the number of flowers they can grow.
The set up is simple. In order to grow a hybrid flower, the player will need to plant two different colored flowers with one space in between each one. The flowers will both need to be watered as watering flowers encourages them to grow and spread. If a player is lucky the flowers will spread to the empty space between the two and will be a hybrid.
While a player could do this with only two flowers, they will see better results if they plant multiple flowers in a checkerboard pattern. Make sure that each flower is surrounded by flowers of a different color so they have a higher chance of growing a hybrid flower. Flowers can take multiple days to spread so players will need to be patient when trying to breed hybrids.
