Animal Crossing: New Horizons has given players a much-needed escape from reality. With the world in a stressful place for everyone, it is nice to have somewhere to hide and relax away from the dumpster fire of the world. Players can collect flowers, insects, fish, and fossils to either donate to the museum, display in their home or even put a presentation on their island for everyone to see. One of the most entertaining and rewarding items to collect is fossils.

Collecting fossils for the museum is extremely rewarding. Blathers really outdid himself in this game, providing players with a museum that would be amazing to see in real life. Players have to help make the museum the best it can possibly be. It also helps that players are able to dig up fossils every day, with about five being the max number of fossils on an island per day. However, this does mean that players will find repeat fossils. So, what should players do with these extra fossils on the side?

Fossils for Everyone in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Players have a few options as far as to how to use the duplicate fossils in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. One popular option is to save the fossils players collect. This allows for players to reassemble any fossils they would like and place the new structures anywhere. So players can set up whole dinosaur displays in their home or place them anywhere on their island. The best part about Animal Crossing: New Horizons is that players do not have to use the same dinosaur type throughout the whole structure. Players are able to create abomination dinosaurs if they so choose.

The other option, and possibly the most lucrative one, is to sell the fossils to Tommy and Timmy Nook. After having Blathers assess the fossils, players can head to the shop to sell the fossils for quite a few bells, depending on the fossil. Some fossils will rack up more bells, such as the T-Rex skull, while other, more common fossils will give players a small boost that could help complete infrastructure construction. Regardless of what players use the extra bells for, they can always come in handy in a pinch.
