Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the newest upcoming entry in the Animal Crossing series. Here's how the DIY Recipes work on the brand new deserted island. Animal Crossing New Horizons is releasing this upcoming March for the Nintendo Switch. Unlike previous titles of the series which took place in cities and towns, for the first time ever, players can find themselves on a deserted island. In Animal Crossing, players take control of their own customizable character. This life simulator drops players into a world of talking animals and it's up to the player to assist them and make them as comfortable as possible. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, the player character lives alongside his villager neighbors. Special events would happen in-game based on time in the real world. Such as celebrating holidays like Christmas and Halloween. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the player would take the role of the mayor of the town, where their responsibilities were to upkeep the town and make its residents as comfortable as possible. Players would build relationships with these characters through activities and design the layout of the town to their liking.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the most heavily anticipated games in recent memory. Up there with the likes of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Doom Eternal. The player character moves to a deserted island after purchasing a vacation package from the series veteran, Tom Nook. Several reoccurring characters are planning to make their return in this title like Isabelle and Mr. Resetti. Mr. Resetti will now serve a new function as the game now has a built-in autosave unlike previous entries in the series Through various Nintendo Directs that have played throughout the last year, new features have been revealed about the title. Additional quality-of-life changes affect the gameplay like the ability to traverse over bodies of water using a new pole item. The game also plans on having local and online multiplayer. Local multiplayer will go up to 4 different characters on one island and online multiplayer brings that number up to 8. Although, the biggest change Animal Crossing fans have noticed about the gameplay is the newest addition of crafting. This guide will help players use the DIY recipes for the title.

Crafting is not a new feature in the Animal Crossing series as it was introduced in the mobile title, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. The Switch title plans to build on the foundation from Pocket Camp and develop it further. Using the DIY recipes, players can use materials located around the island to craft several different types of items. The full list of items is not currently available as the game has yet to be released, but through Nintendo Directs, several key items have been revealed on what materials are needed to create them. These items consist of furniture, nature-based accessories, and more. Every item the player crafts can be viewed on the NookPhone in the DIY Recipes section. DIY Recipes are unlocked by working with other natives of the islands or by finding specific recipes.
