Especially if you owe Tom Nook a hefty sum of money, scorpions are one of the most lucrative insects to ensure an easy way of increasing funds and getting out of debt.

The scorpion appears somewhere between the times of 7 in the afternoon and 4 in the morning. While time traveling is an easy method to quickly get them to spawn, as well as increase the amount of time they are available, some players prefer to avoid this method so keep an eye out on that clock. How to Catch Scorpions in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Scorpions as mentioned before can be found roughly between the times of 7 pm and 4 am and are only available from May until October in the Northern Hemisphere, and November to April in the Southern Hemisphere. When catching a Scorpion it is essential that players nets be safely tucked away until the one or a few have been located roaming the island. Scorpions are rather aggressive so walking around with a net is a sure way to invite them to attack. When approaching a scorpion, holding the A button will cause players to walk slowly and approach the scorpion without making it retaliate. As players get closer, the scorpion will raise its arms multiple times as a way of warning players that it recognizes the threat. Be patient, since the scorpion will raise it's arms multiple times to ward players away and rushing will only increase failure. Once in range, let go of the A button and it's a sure catch!
Failure to catch the scorpion or walking around carelessly with a net during spawn times will result in players receiving a lethal sting immobilizing them and knocking them out. Luckily medicine isn't needed to treat the wound since players will simply wake up in front of their house good as new after a small period of time, so no crafting materials are needed to make any medicine if players don't have any on hand. Running away is also an option but players will be chased down aggressively, but with enough skill doing a 180 spin and quickly catching it is possible. Scorpions sell for 8,000 Bells but if this is a first-time catch, make sure to donate it to the museum to work on getting some more miles! Time traveling is an easy method to grind and stock up on scorpions so use it wisely and happy collecting!
