Two fans have prepared outstanding cosplay interpretations of the Resident Services-dweller, impressing Reddit with their Animal Crossing outfits.
Animal Crossing has been inspiring designers and creators since its release, offering different ways for players to use the island's in-game tools and items to create and shape their perfect getaway. Once the game is complete, decorating one's island is the main draw of the Nintendo classic, with players able to bring to life almost anything they wish to. The game has found a firm audience in crafters and artists, with Animal Crossing: New Horizons inspiring countless fanmade works ranging from character cosplay to recreating villagers through felting, knitting, and crocheting. Some fans have gone even further with their love for the game, with one user even making a real-world version of an in-game Animal Crossing furniture item.
Redditors dusty_sloth and X_is_for_Xan have shown off their love of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in two different Halloween-ready cosplays. Dusty_sloth has shared a snap of their daughter's Isabelle look which is based on the character's fall outfit, and includes a knitted sweater with flower detailing. According to the user, they had to hand-dye the sweater to find the perfect brown color in order to get the costume as accurate as possible. The look is completed with bells used to secure an up-do reminiscent of the NPC's hairstyle. X_is_for_Xan has also made a splash with their Isabelle costume, which highlights the character's summery outfit including Isabelle's pink shirt decorated with AC leaves and a Bell bag. X_is_for_Xan has paired the shirt with a skirt similar to the one Isabelle is seen wearing when outside Resident Services, and has favored a hair-down look. In the comments of their post, the creator noted that they're interested in trying a top bun hairstyle with their hair looped to mimic Isabelle's dog ears.

Isabelle's design might make her seem like one of the simpler Animal Crossing characters to cosplay as, especially when compared to some of the other NPCs and villagers, but she's undoubtedly become one of the series' biggest icons. Isabelle didn't make her Animal Crossing debut until 2012's Animal Crossing: New Leaf, but has quickly become synonymous with the series thanks to her heavy presence in titles like New Horizons. Fans of the happy-go-lucky dog can choose from a variety of Isabelle looks for costumes and cosplay, with the character seen wearing a few different accessories depending on the time of year, such as bopper headbands or a Halloween witch's hat.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are getting ready for the next big game update, scheduled for November 5. Nintendo gave an overview of the update in a recent AC-focused Nintendo Direct, but smaller quality-of-life updates are thought to have yet been fully explained. Players are still hoping that Isabelle, who greets users each day with often repetitive news updates, will either be given new dialogue or that a skip option will be introduced. Animal Crossing fans will have to wait until November to see all the changes coming to the game.
