In the latest homage to a Disney/Pixar classic, one Animal Crossing player has put together a display of characters from the beloved 2003 film Finding Nemo. Nintendo’s island-life simulator lets players create pretty much anything, so fans have been crafting fun tributes to their favorite movies, TV shows, and games.

This includes the creative works of Disney and Pixar, with players using Animal Crossing: New Horizons to recreate iconic locations like Andy’s Room from the Toy Story films or the Scare Floor from Monsters Inc. One player even used fish models to capture the ocean scenery from Finding Nemo and as it turns out they aren’t the only one to come up with that idea.

Yesterday, Reddit user hannahh4 posted a cute little in-game Finding Nemo diorama to the AnimalCrossing subreddit. Using the same fish models as a previous Nemo display, the player puts Marlin (the clownfish), Dory (the surgeonfish), and Bruce (the shark) on a shoreline, with the words “Fish Are Friends, Not Food” written on the ground in front of them. Fans of the movie will remember this slogan as the one Bruce and his fellow sharks repeat in their goal to not eat the fish living with them in the ocean - although old habits and predator instincts tend to die hard, as poor Marlin and Dory discover during their travels.

Aside from movie tributes, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have been making their own in-game fun, such as holding in-game weddings and finally holding longtime black market dealer Redd accountable for his crimes in a court of law. Though New Horizons was notably absent from Nintendo’s E3 showcase last week, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser assures fans that new content is on the way - and it will make up for the lack of support the games has suffered from despite being one of the Nintendo Switch’s best-selling titles of 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic forcing everyone inside.

In the meantime, hannahh4’s Finding Nemo tribute is a simple yet cute nod to a childhood classic, and another example of the immense creativity and inspiration fueling the Animal Crossing player base. If nothing else, it should get landlocked viewers in the mood for Pixar's latest sea-fairing adventure, Luca, which is now available to stream on Disney + and will most likely lead to even more animated tributes in
