A player of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has put the game's new Gyroids to use by recreating a classic SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon moment and meme. Gyroids are just one of many recent additions introduced to the 2020 game by way of the November Animal Crossing 2.0 update, which has added plenty of new ways for fans to recreate movies, shows, and memes.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans have been hoping for new game content for some time now, and the latest game update hasn't disappointed. Players have been enjoying new features such as farming and cooking, but the game has also seen the return of many series-favorite characters and collectibles. Gyroids, a staple across the franchise, are collectible, musical, decorative character items that are either found under the ground or, in the Nintendo Switch game, grown from Gyroid Fragments. Despite being synonymous with the games, Gyroids only came to ACNH this November.

Twitter user and Animal Crossing fan PetrarchEleven has gone viral after sharing their recreation of one of the biggest SpongeBob memes: the "I don't need it" meme from the classic cartoon episode, "Tea at the Treedome." In the show, SpongeBob tries to resist a tempting glass of water while facing dehydration, with the character appearing as a cracked and withered sponge. PetrarchEleven has reimagined the memorable meme with a crumpled-looking Gyroid taking on the role of SpongeBob, staring at an Infused-water dispenser. The hilarious recreation has taken social media by storm, amassing over 40,000 Likes at the time of writing.

Those looking to recreate the Animal Crossing meme should find it fairly easy to do so, with the biggest barrier being acquiring a suitable Gyroid. The user has a Crumploid playing the role of SpongeBob, mimicking the character's dehydrated look. While it may take some time to get the same Gyroid, all ACNH Gyroids are of the same rarity, meaning players are just as likely to find a Crumploid as any other Gyroid. The meme creator has then crafted the infused water dispenser, placed both items on simple natural wooden furniture, and used a grassy floor and sky wallpaper to recreate Sandy Cheek's home where the scene takes place.

PetrarchEleven isn't the first Animal Crossing player to use the new 2.0 update to create memes. The update has added over 9,000 new items for fans to get creative with, as well as new home design abilities and a new pro camera app. Combining these and playing with birds-eye and tripod camera shots has given players even more possibilities when it comes to recreations, with players recently creating Animal Crossing memes from shows and games including the Silent Hill 3 bread scene.
