How To Catch Great White Sharks In Animal Crossing New Horizons

Animal Crossing New Horizons Great White Shark Info

The Great White Shark is available in the Northern Hemisphere from June until September and in the Southern Hemisphere from December to March. This means that players who live in the Southern Hemisphere who have not caught a Great White Shark already will need to either travel to a friend's island in the Northern Hemisphere or wait for December to roll back around.

This fish can only be found from 4 PM to 9 AM, meaning that players will either need to catch it in the evening or early in the morning. The Great White Shark can be found in the sea on the player's island or on Mystery Islands. The Great White Shark will appear as a large shadow with a dorsal fin protruding through the water. Great White Sharks will only appear from the shadows with a dorsal fin, so there is no point in catching fish without one if looking for it. Keep in mind that the fin can be hard to see on fish that are vertical, so try adjusting the camera position to check first. Players will know they are fishing up the correct size fish if they are catching other sharks like the Hammerhead Shark or Saw Shark.

Players can take time to collect clams and craft fish bait if they are not interested in waiting for a finned fish to appear naturally. If the players fishing rod breaks, they should keep in mind that they can also purchase tools from the Nook's Cranny if they deem it more convenient. Once players have caught their first Great White Shark, other Great White Sharks caught can be sold to the Nook's Cranny for 15,000 bells. The player can also wait for CJ, one of the game's special visitors, that will pay more for fish. If players are having difficulty getting fish with dorsal fins to spawn in the sea scare off other fish to increase spawn chances or find a Mystery Island that has a good path connecting its beaches.
