In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can turn their islands into anything, even a farm where the villagers are the livestock. In New Horizons, the player is given an island that they can shape into whatever they want. Ever since the game's debut, players have shared many inspired creations that make use of the game's creative capabilities.

The Animal Crossing series has grown exponentially since its first debut on the GameCube in 2015. Players who have been around since the beginning have gone from being just another villager to the mayor to maintaining an entire island. The player's role has shifted from being "the new guy" who occasionally got bullied by the other villagers to being the one who runs the community. The player now has a position of power, making any decisions and changes to their Animal Crossing experience that they want, whether villagers like it or not.

Reddit user acnh_kaylee turned their island into a giant plot of farmland, complete with the villagers as livestock. With rabbits left to roam free while the ducks, chickens, and pigs are kept in their pens, acnh-kaylee gave everything a natural farm-like feel. This attention to detail includes wooden posts and wire fences around the homes of the "livestock" animals. Each animal enclosure has the inhabitants living in charming rustic wooden houses, with plenty of wheat fields all around them. The little touches make this Animal Crossing island feel like the countryside, with rustic and wooden furniture like barrels and waterspouts strategically placed throughout the area. Even acnh-kaylee's villager is dressed like a farmhand with overalls and boots, running from pen to pen, tossing feed at the animals.

Seeing each villager in a small yet cozy-looking pen puts more emphasis on the animal part of Animal Crossing. Of course, every animal in the series can walk and talk just like a human, but Kaylee's island reminds players how many farm animals make up Animal Crossing's character roster. There are sheep, horses, cows, dogs, and cats characters that could find a natural spot on this island farm. Any of them could make a great addition to Kaylee's farm, though seeing the vast tracks of farmland with adorable animal characters everywhere makes everything feel more like Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley.

This farm island is another example of the impressive creativity players have shared over the past few years. Whether players see these characters as livestock or fellow villagers, Kaylee's farm is full of charm. All the while, it gives players a new perspective on the cast of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
