An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has been using the new face cutout customization options well, creating a version of the My Neighbor Totoro character Catbus for villagers to ride. My Neighbor Totoro is one of the more popular Studio Ghibli films, and it features a wide array of memorable characters, from the titular Totoro to the bizarre-yet-beloved Catbus.

Animal Crossing players are in the midst of celebrating the game's one year anniversary, which occurred on March 20, 2021. Part of those celebrations included a free Animal Crossing update on March 18 that added a few key changes to the game. First, players were given an additional 50 custom design slots to both the Normal and Pro Custom Design modes, which allowed for more creativity in island design. Second, players were able to unlock the Custom Design Pro Editor, which then gave them the ability to customize umbrellas, small flags, and photo stands - the latter of which has been giving people plenty to work with in porting their favorite properties over to their Animal Crossing islands.

An Animal Crossing player who goes by daileyart on Reddit posted their own custom photo stand, and it's one of the best yet, using multiple stands to recreate the Catbus. It's a gorgeous representation of the character, blending the Studio Ghibli art style into a more pixel-art variant for Animal Crossing, and it features multiple holes for players to stand behind. The creator has already made the collection available online, too, so anyone looking to add the Catbus to their island need only enter the appropriate creator code in the Reddit post and download it.

Now that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been available for over a year, it's impressive to see its community continuing to churn out quality creations like the Catbus. Naturally, with millions of invested players worldwide, Animal Crossing: New Horizons enjoys the kind of support that only the biggest games can boast, but the fact it has so many active creators eager to interact with each update remains a testament to the game's lasting class.

While some people felt that the one year anniversary for Animal Crossing: New Horizons was lackluster, the free update that launched just prior to that date has added a pretty sizeable amount to the game. Even factoring out the 50 new custom design slots - which are major for the most invested players in the game - the new customization options have already added a slew of new creation options for players. While the next year will be indicative of just how long-term Animal Crossing: New Horizons' life cycle will be, its first year has never been short on creative, interesting designs - and the Animal Crossing Catbus face cutout design is another addition to that roster.
