Other than a few vague specifications provided by the client, players will be able to decorate each new vacation home however they want. To start working, players will need to purchase the Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC, then complete the tutorial that introduces them to working at the resort.
To change the weather and time of day outside a vacation home in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players will need to get to their second client. This unlocks the ability to customize the exterior and yard, as well as the overworld setting. Along with time and weather, players can add furniture and fences, as well as change the home's shape, color, and the season outside. More options are unlocked later as players progress in their careers.

When players start out, there will also be two weather options to choose from: sunny or rainy.
Changing the weather to rainy will affect how the time of day is portrayed. The lighting is darker to simulate dense rain clouds overhead. Having the ability to change the time and weather can enhance the client's dream home if their requests are environment-related. Using these two options also helps players create a more diverse portfolio for the Happy Home Network, which will lead to career advancements.
As players progress in their design careers in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC, more customization options become available, but there are still a lot of choices automatically unlocked at the start of the DLC. Working at the resort, players will be able to control the time of day, weather, and seasons at each client's home for a deeper and more immersive experience that enhances the atmosphere and helps fulfill customer requests.
