A player of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has shared a look at their festive holiday bulletin board art, which appears as though it's come straight from an official Nintendo cartoon show. Creating Animal Crossing bulletin board art is a beloved activity in the game, made popular by artists in the AC community who use the available tools to draw scenes from their favorite movies, images of their New Horizons villagers, and even recreations of memes.

Animal Crossing is a game that very much focuses on creativity and design, whether that be achieved through interior design, island decoration, creating custom clothing and paths, or through the bulletin board. The bulletin board serves as a way for players to get information about events on their island, but can also be used to leave messages and pictures for friends. Many users enjoy using their bulletin board to keep artwork and drawings created by themselves and other players, and users can even pay in-game money for others to come to their island to design bulletin board art through the Animal Crossing fan trading site Nookazon.

Sharing their festive Animal Crossing bulletin board art to Reddit, user ftxujie has given a look at some of their impressive skills. The artist's various pieces include a Christmas gift exchange between a player and Kitt, a player and Lyman building a gingerbread house, Erik and Marshall at the dinner table, and even Ione and Raymond opening presents. ftxujie's work shows Animal Crossing in a new light, with each piece of art teasing what an animated Nintendo cartoon based on the IP could look like. According to the creator, each bulletin board art piece takes up to seven hours to complete, and is achieved with a disc tip stylus.

While Nintendo hasn't yet turned Animal Crossing into a cartoon show, a movie based on the franchise did release in Japan in 2006. The movie, entitled Dōbutsu no Mori or Animal Crossing: The Movie uses an anime art style similar to the Pokémon series, deviating from the 3D visuals of the games. Thanks to its wide roster of characters and its popularity, the Animal Crossing franchise would arguably be well-suited to a cartoon series, though whether or not one could ever happen remains to be seen.

Bulletin boards in Animal Crossing are a great way for users to flex their creative muscles, and serve as something of a scrapbook of memories to be looked back on in the future. ftxujie's bulletin board art may have taken hours to create, but the results are well worth the time spent, and will give the user something to look forward to seeing again when Animal Crossing celebrates Toy Day next year. The artwork also gives fans a taste of the options Nintendo has if the company ever were to release a 2D animated show based on the franchise, which could very well adopt a similar look.
