One creative Animal Crossing fan used terraforming to recreate Hyrule as seen in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, proving just how versatile the tools can be.
Players looking to add grand designs to their Animal Crossing island will want to take notes from TikTok user Sierra_18, whose how-to guide to creating the perfect fountain was recently shared to Reddit by careless_love1800. The video highlights just how easy it is to create picturesque fountains using just one item and the terraforming tools. Sierra_18 begins by marking out and building a cliff measuring 5x5 blocks. The player then adds a second 3x3 cliff layer on top, with Waterscaping used on each of its four sides. Adding a stand-out item to the second layer gives the fountain a personal touch, with Sierra_18 opting for a flamingo. Returning to the first cliff level, players then need to remove three blocks from each of the sides. Finally, Sierra_18 digs out blocks around the fountain for a pond.
This simple yet effective build can be tailored to suit almost any style. As well as opting for the square look seen in the video, players can also use Animal Crossing's terraforming to round off their edges for a softer appearance. Adding pathways, flowers, or items to the build can also help turn the fountain into something that fits in well with any aesthetic, making it a wonderfully versatile addition to any island. While a fantastic tool for design fans, the title's gameplay has been criticized. Although ACNH has seen semi-regular updates since its release, they've mostly consisted of new items or seasonal events. Players desperately want more to do in Animal Crossing, comparing it to Stardew Valley, which excels when it comes to its gameplay. It's hoped Nintendo will release new content in the future, but at least players have plenty to design their island with for now.
