Its been a busy month for Animal CrossingNot only did the the series' most recent game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, celebrate its 1-year anniversary, but it was also recently announced that the popular video game would be doing a collaboration with Build-A-Bear Workshop sometime in the future.

This was unexpected news, but with such a huge roster of adorable animal characters to choose from, an Animal Crossing team up with Build-A-Bear makes perfect sense. The real question is, who from the series deserves to be turned into a stuffed animal the most?

Listed below are the Animal Crossing characters that should be prime candidates to receive the Build-A-Bear treatment. The following animals from New Horizons exhibit the perfect combination of cuteness, popularity, and importance, making them all top choices to be transformed into adorable Animal Crossing Build-A-Bear plushies.

Animal Crossing Build-A-Bear Candidate: Tom Nook

Often the most obvious choice is also the best. On the surface, Tom Nook is an adorable racoon, which fulfills his Build-A-Bear cuteness quota right off the bat. Tom Nook also happens to be the most iconic face in the Animal Crossing universe, and the character that most people associate the series with.

Whether it's going shopping at his store, or paying off some of the never-ending debt that he cripples the player with, it's hard to boot up New Horizons and not see Tom Nook. Plus, to someone without any Animal Crossing knowledge, he somewhat resembles a bear, which would be beneficial if he were to be a Build-A-Bear collection headliner. Having an Animal Crossing collection without Tom Nook would just be wrong, and it seems likely that he'll be one of the first options available when the products hit shelves.

Animal Crossing Build-A-Bear Candidate: Isabelle

Despite not making her debut until later in the series in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Isabelle quickly became one of the most popular characters in all of Animal Crossing. It's easy to see why, Isabelle is a yellow Shih Tzu with one of the sweetest and most earnest personalities imaginable; it's almost impossible to have anything negative to say about her.

In addition to Isabelle being the most recognizable female Animal Crossing character, she's also a cute dog, an animal that always makes for a great plushie. For all of these reasons, Isabelle is the most likely choice to be the co-headliner with Tom Nook for the Animal Crossing line of Build-A-Bear products.

Animal Crossing Build-A-Bear Candidate: Raymond

It's tough to find many Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers who are fitting for a Build-A-Bear portrayal. Since there are so many villagers possible, many of them wont be seen in-game at all by a large portion of the fanbase, which makes gaining mainstream popularity more challenging. However, there is one villager who has persevered and has easily overcome this obstacle, and that's Raymond the cat.

Raymond was found to be the most popular villager in Animal Crossing: New Horizons last year, and that doesn't seem likely to change anytime soon. His unique blend of fashion sense and smug personality makes him one of the most endearing and sought-after villagers in all of New Horizons. His striking appearance highlighted by his differently-colored eyes would also make for a fantastic stuffed animal.

Animal Crossing Build-A-Bear Candidate: Ribbot

With all the essential animals covered, Animal Crossing and Build-A-Bear can afford to get a little unorthodox with some of their other choices, and no villager says unorthodox like the robot frog Ribbot. While not quite as beloved or well-known as the others on this list, Ribbot has been considered a popular villager choice since the original Animal Crossing game, and would be a great inclusion to the Build-A-Bear collection. After all, Build-A-Bear offers some pretty unique stuffed animal choices, but it's safe to say they probably don't have many mechanical frogs on their shelves.
