The latest creation to come from the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community is in the form of a cozy, 1970s-style conversation pit. Even after celebrating its one-year anniversary, Nintendo's latest installment in the Animal Crossing series remains immensely popular with its player base, who consistently generates impressive in-game creations.

Most of the impressive builds that come from the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community are inspired from other popular intellectual properties with some more recent examples including the likes of Frozen and Resident Evil Village. That said, sometimes players will design things that are more grounded in reality but these are often on a large scale. One player, however, recently came up with an intimate but still impressive creation that was inspired by a decade that began over 50-years ago.

Reddit user Pigment_b recently posted an image of a 1970s-inspired conversation pit made in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The centerpiece of the room is the massive orange couch that nearly forms a perfect square. Other aesthetic touches to complete the look include a record player, a rotary phone, and the overall orange color scheme.

Much of the conversation that started because of this pit was eye-opening to just how broad the player base for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is. The game's presentation might paint a picture of a certain player base, particularly one that is younger. Instead of that, however, many of the comments expressed familiarity with this aesthetic style and a few even made clear that this reminded them of their childhood. This shows how players of all ages and backgrounds not only gave Animal Crossing: New Horizons a chance but still actively participate in the community.

The discussion around Pigment_b's conversation pit demonstrates what sets the Animal Crossing community apart from other fandoms. Every fanbase has toxicity within it and some are far worse than others. There are even a few where unfortunately the toxicity has become part of what defines a certain fandom. Animal Crossing, meanwhile, seems to have very little of that. The community has developed a reputation for its inclusivity and sharing of ideas, which were both exemplified in the comments section of Pigment_b's post. Animal Crossing: New Horizons seemed to take that goodwill to the next level by how it helped so many people get through the COVID-19 pandemic. For the time being, it looks like Nintendo's life simulation series might have one of the best, if not the best, communities in gaming.
