The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct has finally given fans a look at Brewster and The Roost cafe ahead of the upcoming game update. Fans of Animal Crossing have been asking for more content for the 2020 release for many months now, and the Animal Crossing-focused Direct has shared what's coming to the game with a 20 minute-long livestream.

Brewster has been one of the most highly-requested special characters that fans have wanted to see in ACNH. The pigeon, known for serving up delicious coffee at his Roost cafe, is one of many series-staple characters who've yet to make their appearance in the Nintendo Switch release, and lots of players doubted whether or not Nintendo planned to expand the game to include him and others. While it seems as though Dr. Shrunk, the return of the Shampoodle beauty salon, and more features won't come to New HorizonsBrewster was confirmed for ACNH in September. The pigeon will be taking up a space in the museum with a coffee shop open 24 hours a day.

As revealed in the October 15 Nintendo Direct, Brewster and The Roost will be joining the game on November 5, bringing with them some new gameplay elements. Island residents including Isabelle will be able to visit the Roost, and amiibo cards will also welcome new characters of players' choosing, with the possibility of them bringing other characters with them. As expected, players can bring their friends to enjoy coffee in multiplayer.

In previous Animal Crossing games, Brewster and his cafe introduced minigames in which players would take on the role of barista, serving up hot beverages for their villagers. Players would need to get the orders right in order to earn Bells, with Brewster-themed items also available. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be returning for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, something which might be a disappointment to long-time fans of the series. Along with Brewster, the Direct confirmed the return of Kapp'n and Tortimer, paving the way for even more NPC announcements in the future.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been criticized for what many perceive to be a lack of gameplay, with most of the game's focus on decorating and designing once the core campaign is complete. Sadly, the Direct has confirmed the November update will be the last big update for ACNH, meaning players shouldn't expect any more substantial Animal Crossing content going forward.
