A dedicated fan has created the Spooky Arch from Animal Crossing: New Horizons in real life, for use as a Halloween decoration. The arch is just one of the many new features being added to Nintendo's beloved life simulation game in preparation for HalloweenAnimal Crossing's Halloween event is far from the first special holiday to feature in the game, but with the myriad of costumes and decorations on display, this month's spooky proceedings are sure to go down in history.

Of course, that's something that can be said of the whole game. Animal Crossing: New Horizons was a landmark success when it released in March. With COVID-19 restrictions on the rise, many turned to the game's lovely depiction of tranquil island life as a treasured form of escapism. Animal Crossing's charming anthropomorphic animal villagers were a hit with fans in a big way, prompting an absurd economic system based around acquiring villagers for fans' islands. The game has become such a cultural phenomenon that presidential candidate Joe Biden has even taken notice, opening up his own island to encourage fans to vote next month.

One fan has taken his love for Animal Crossing: New Horizons to a whole new level. Reddit user TheManRoomGuy posted a photo of a Spooky Arch decoration from Animal Crossing's Halloween event. But this wasn't a screenshot from the game; this Spooky Arch is a real life decoration set up in front of a real life house. TheManRoomGuy went above and beyond to recreate the decoration, including accurate placement of lights and jack-o-lanterns. He even went above and beyond in his decoration by including the arch's spectral tulle fabric draping. Check it out below:

Animal Crossing fan creations like this have been wildly common throughout the year. They mostly consist of fanart, though, or impressively decorated islands in-game. Few fan projects transcend the internet like this and become real-life builds. But Halloween is definitely a good time for whipping up creative new physical works, and this isn't the first time the adorable island life game has inspired some seasonally spooky decorations.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons isn't quite as culturally prominent as it was when it launched; nowadays it seems like Among Us is the game that's at the forefront of everyone's thoughts and YouTube viewing lists. But Nintendo's island vacation is still a delightful time sink for a lot of dedicated fans, and the internet is still rife with people willing to show their love with phenomenal projects like this homemade Spooky Arch. This Halloween, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan community is definitely more of a treat than a trick.
