A crafty Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has shown off their perfect vegetable patch, which can be recreated just in time for fall. The design would like right at home on any Animal Crossing farm-inspired or rural island, and can easily be adapted to include imitations of other fruits and vegetables with the only limit being the player's imagination.

Animal Crossing doesn't include many vegetables or fruits within the game. Available fruits are limited to coconuts, cherries, peaches, pears, oranges, and apples. The lack of fruits and vegetables has been a point of frustration for many players with farmcore or all-natural islands, and it's hoped more options will be added to Animal Crossing in a future update. The addition of pumpkins, which are grown in the ground and can be orange, yellow, green, or white, excited Animal Crossing players last fall and could mean more fruits and vegetables are planned for the future.

The lack of growable vegetation means players have to get creative if they want to include gardening plots and vegetable patches on their islands. Redditor and Animal Crossing player holly745 has demonstrated just how the game's tools and items can help to create the perfect farming area in lieu of official veggies. The finished look gives the appearance of a fully-fleshed vegetable garden, complete with a wide array of "vegetables" created by innovatively placing beach balls, cushions, and lamps.

See the vegetable patch on Reddit here.

Players looking to recreate the look should find it fairly straightforward. The player has designated a plot of land and used pathways in different shades of brown as soil for their Animal Crossing vegetables. They've then grown pumpkins in orange, white, and green, in five rows, separated with other "vegetables." The beach ball is the watermelon variant, which has been placed within custom pathway designs to give the illusion of them having taken root. Next, the bamboo-shoot lamp has been crafted in multiples and placed as though a natural-growing shoot, while the mum cushion has been used to mimic cauliflower. The build is completed with the barbed wire fence, which adds a rustic flavor to the finished look. Players can also use flowers that have been run through and destroyed to mimic corn or strawberries, while the addition of a wheelbarrow or tools could add even more personality to the vegetable garden.

The farm veggie patch design is a great idea for players looking to redesign their islands for fall. Animal Crossing farms and more natural builds should once again see a boost in popularity as the season changes. Fall is likely to welcome back Halloween-inspired Animal Crossing events, including the return of Jack, which means fans will probably want to celebrate the season by decorating their island with leaf piles, pumpkin patches, and other seasonal designs. Nintendo hasn't confirmed the details of this year's Halloween event, but with October fast approaching, it's likely an announcement will be made soon.
