One Animal Crossing: New Horizons user recently found a creative way to protect themselves from the sting of the game's overly aggressive wasps. The wasps in Animal Crossing: New Horizons count among the few real threats that inhabit the otherwise peaceful in-game Island. These harmful bugs don't typically pose too much of a threat, unless their nest is disturbed by an unsuspecting Villager who just so happens to be, say, chopping down a wasp-laden tree.

If agitated, a swarm of the tiny flying insects won't waste time chasing down the culprit. Players can try running from or catching the wasps at the risk of being stung, of course, but there are ways of shaking the annoying pests. For instance, one user learned a few months ago that quickly firing off a party popper serves as a good method for scaring away wasps. Since it's a one-time use item, some may find the party popper approach a little too extreme. Now there's yet another interesting way of avoiding Animal Crossing: New Horizons' pesky bugs.

Reddit user ladywhoneverknewit shared a brief clip of how they now rid themselves of wasps while exploring New Horizons. At the start of the 20-second video, the player shakes a tree full of wasps, then quickly runs to a nearby Pergola and stands beneath it. Instead of attacking, the bugs swoop around a few times before the player equips a net and scoops the creatures up in one quick motion. Boom, wasp-free zone achieved. Get a look at this interesting method of escape in the post linked below:

Like the previously mentioned party popper method, the Pergola way of getting rid of wasps in Animal Crossing: New Horizons may not work to everyone's tastes. Still, it could prove a solid backup option under certain circumstances.

ACNH hit store shelves in March 2020 and received its final content drops of note a little over a week ago. On November 5, Version 2.0 added Brewster and The Roost café to New Horizons. This particular update additionally launched alongside the popular title's first and last paid expansion, Happy Home Paradise, which allows Villagers to create their clients' dream vacation home. With these two releases out of the way, the question of when exactly Nintendo plans on announcing the next Animal Crossing entry hangs heavily in the air.
