The cruel, yet beautiful world of Attack on Titan collides with Animal Crossing in a surprisingly cute mashup video shared by a 3D artist on TikTok. The result is unbelievably adorable and perfect for fans of both Attack on Titan and Animal Crossing.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is nearing its second anniversary on Nintendo Switch. The game received its last update in November 2021, and there are more upgrades rumored for this year. Whether or not Nintendo continues to support Animal Crossing in 2022, its creative fanbase keeps it going. Crafty players have customized their islands to create picturesque escapes. Some even plant references to their favorite games, movies, TV shows, and anime in their island design. Right now, Attack on Titan is at the forefront of anime. First airing in 2013, this titan-slaying series is currently airing the second part of its final season, and its popularity is at an all-time high.

The finale prompted Peachy_Fried to share 3D models of Attack on Titan characters if they appeared in Animal Crossing on TikTok. Luvrhime found the video and posted it on Twitter. The video first showed off a model of Eren Yeager in a T-pose. Complete with his Scout Regiment uniform, angry blue eyes, and a cravat that likely belonged to Levi, Eren looks cute as a villager. Next, Peachy_Fried recreated the iconic scene of Eren using his omnidirectional mobility gear to attack the Colossal Titan. However, instead of swords, Eren uses butterfly nets to take down the 60-meter (or 197-foot) villager. The result is terrifyingly adorable.

The video raises the question: What would this mashup be named? Peachy_Fried ponders, “Titan Crossing? Animal on Titan? Attack on Village?” Any title would work for this funny crossover. The TikTok video was accompanied by Nathan “NateWantsToBattle” Sharp’s English cover of “Shinzou Wo Sasageyo,” an opening song from Attack on Titan’s second season. To make the models and animation, Peachy_Fried used the free, open-source software, Blender. They specifically used the grease pencil tool to draw on top of their models to give their creations a more classic, cel-shaded look. Blender has been used for CGI and pre-visualization work in the film and animation industries. Its tools have been used in many productions, including the Academy Award-nominated animated film, Wolfwakers.

As always, Animal Crossing's community is filled with an abundance of creativity. It is a delight to see what fans come up with, especially when they combine another notable franchise with Animal Crossing’s cute aesthetic. The Colossal Titan does not seem as scary when it appears as a villager. It just had better watch out for Eren’s butterfly nets.
