When Wolfram & Hart, Attorneys at Law first appeared on Angel, the idea of evil lawyers seemed a little on the nose for some fans and even comical to others. As Angel’s first season progressed through its monster of the week routine, attorneys from the evil law firm continued appearing here and there, giving viewers more insight into the threat of Wolfram & Hart and its ability to permeate the world of Angel Investigations.

As the series progressed, more of the firm’s employees came into the narrative, each seemingly more evil than the last. While the Buffyverse is not without its morally murky characters, Wolfram & Hart offered up a roster of villainous employees that truly put Team Angel to the test.

Harmony Kendall

On Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Harmony was always a little evil, even before becoming a vampire. She later emerged on Angel in Season 2, rekindling her friendship with Cordelia before betraying Team Angel.

Fast-forward to Season 5 and Harmony not only returned, but she was Angel’s executive assistant. As a series regular, Harmony appeared to have her evil ways under control. She played nice, stopped drinking human blood, and even bonded with Fred. In the end, however, Harmony betrayed Angel yet again. After striking up an affair with the Senior Partners' liaison, Marcus Hamilton, Harmoney divulged all of Angel’s plans.

Gavin Park

Gavin Park became a pain for both Lilah Morgan and Angel Investigations when he transferred to Wolfram & Hart’s Special Projects Division. Unlike his other legal peers, Gavin exhibited his evil nature in truly daunting and realistic ways. This included trying to tie Angel up in legal processes over ownership and zoning issues regarding the Hyperion Hotel.

He later bugged the Hyperion, providing Wolfram & Hart unlimited access into the ongoings of Angel Investigations. Gavin’s true evil nature was best demonstrated in his ongoing attempts to destroy Lilah. He uncovered her affair with Wesley and tried to instigate her termination.

Lee Mercer

Though he was one of the more forgettable lawyers at Wolfram & Hart, Lee Mercer attempted some truly evil schemes in his time. Working under Holland Manners and alongside Lilah Morgan and Lindsey McDonald, Lee was as dedicated to the firm’s evil mission as his more famous peers.

Some of Lee's most notable work included hiring Faith, then a rogue Slayer, to kill Angel. When Faith failed to deliver, he put a hit out on her. As most Wolfram & Hart employees seem to do, Lee also turned on his employer. He attempted to move to another firm and poach several clients on his way out.

Marcus Hamilton

Though he appeared in just five episodes during Season 5, Wolfram & Hart’s new liaison, Marcus Hamilton, made quite an impression. Unlike his predecessor Eve, Marcus was completely devoted to the Senior Partners. As a “child” of the Partners, their evil and power literally flowed through his veins.

With super-strength and a no-nonsense attitude, his first move on screen was to put his fist through the heart of a Wolfram & Hart security guard. Even Illyria was no match for him. Marcus also frequently tried to manipulate and corrupt members of Team Angel, eventually collaborating with Harmony and attempting to kill Angel.

Linwood Morrow

As President of Wolfram & Hart’s Special Projects Division, Linwood Murrow was one of the firm’s most powerful employees. Unlike his more mission-driven subordinates, Linwood put himself first, even hiding information from the Partners.

Due to his fear of Angel, Linwood occasionally tried to kill him despite the company policy to let him live. This was particularly true after his botched attempt to kidnap baby Connor. Linwood was also threatened by Lilah and he tried to have her terminated after exposing her affair with Wesley. The Senior Partners later approved Lilah’s plan to decapitate Linwood and assume his position.

Knox

Wolfram & Hart scientist and Practical Science Division manager, Knox, originally seemed anything but evil. Throughout most of Season 5, he maintained that he was not evil and everyone, including Fred, more or less believed him.

Unfortunately for Fred and Team Angel, Knox turned out to be an evil fanatic who worshiped Illyria, an ancient Old One he sought to resurrect. Knox’s affection for Fred led him to choose her to be Illyria’s new host. In one of the most devastating moves by a Wolfram & Hart employee, Knox sacrificed Fred, destroying her soul in the process.

Lindsey McDonald

Barring Lilah Morgan, Lindsey McDonald was Wolfram & Hart’s most well-known and effective lawyer. Facing off with Angel as early as the series’ first episode, Lindsey worked hard to bring Angel down before leaving in Season 2.

At Wolfram & Hart, Lindsey resurrected Darla to drive Angel to evil, helped hire Faith as an assassin, and almost destroyed the Shanshu Prophecy. In Season 5 he again attempted to kill Angel. Lindsey had previously attempted to steal from a charity for East Hills Teen Center, willingly represented all manner of evil beings in court, and turned on his own team repeatedly, most notably Lilah.

Holland Manners

Holland Manners was one of Wolfram & Hart’s top employees, overseeing the Special Projects Division, which often focused on Angel. He was involved in a number of the schemes his subordinates came up with to kill or corrupt Angel, including resurrecting Darla and later recruiting Drusilla to sire her.

Manners was known for his loyalty tests, which resulted in death for those who failed. Such was the case with Lee Mercer. Underneath his paternal exterior, Manners was a calculating and devious lawyer who took no issue with dispatching those who opposed or failed him.

Lilah Morgan

Cunning, manipulative, and uncompromising, Lilah Morgan was one of the evilest and most complex of Wolfram & Hart’s employees. Over four seasons, she schemed and plotted not only to ruin or possibly kill Angel, but also to climb her way up the corporate ladder. This was best evidenced when she sought approval to decapitate her supervisor, Linwood Murrow.

During her career, she helped hire Faith to kill Angel and assisted Sahjhan in kidnapping baby Connor. Despite these plots and more, Lilah also collaborated with Team Angel on occasion and shared a dark romance with Wesley before being killed by a possessed Cordelia. Even after death, she helped lure Angel Investigations into working at Wolfram & Hart.

The Senior Partners

Despite being the most ubiquitous Big Bads in Angel, the Senior Partners were also the most elusive. Commonly known as the Wolf, the Ram, and the Hart, the Partners created their multidimensional law firm to enact their plans through their limitless number of evil employees.

Unlike many Big Bads, the Partners’ power did not stem from any supernatural source but from the evil already existing in all beings. For over a millennia, they cultivated the evil in others to wage a war that goes back nearly as far. As evidenced by their willingness to swallow Los Angeles in a sea of demons in Season 5, the Senior Partners were truly an evil force to be reckoned with.
