A new promotional video for Baking It shows Andy Samberg singing about a terrifying new Christmas reindeer. The new baking series will consist of six half-hour-long episodes and is due to premiere on Peacock on December 2. Samberg will co-host the upcoming show alongside SNL co-star Maya Rudolph.

The new festive culinary series serves as a spinoff to NBC’s popular crafting show, Making It. Amy Poehler, who co-hosts the original crafting series with her Parks & Recreation co-star Nick Offerman, is also acting as an executive producer for the new show. Baking It invites eight pairs of amateur bakers to Samberg and Rudolph’s winter cabin, where they are challenged to create an assortment of sweet and savoury holiday treats in the hopes of securing a cash prize.

Now in a new promotional video from Peacock, Samberg is seen singing about a new and terrifying addition to Santa’s sleigh line-up. Inviting his disturbed colleague to join him in song, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star proceeds to depict a horrifying reindeer named in his honor: Samberg The Sand Eating Reindeer. With a great deal of holiday cheer, he depicts how this new reindeer “digs through the sand all night” and finds “shredded tires and rusted wires to leave in your room when you turn off the light.” The comedian goes on to describe how Sandberg breaks into Santa’s home, steals elves hats, turns into sea foam and eats “ocean rats.” Check out the video below:

Baking It received a series order from Peacock in May 2021, with Universal Television Alternative Studio producing. The show is just one of a number of spinoffs ordered by Peacock, with Top Chef and Below Deck spinoffs also in the works. Described as a “heartfelt and joyful celebration,” Baking It will reportedly explore a number of holiday traditions and encourage overindulgence at Christmas. Samberg and Rudolph are pegged to provide some funny running commentary and will perhaps serve as a distraction as the contestants attempt to impress a panel of grandmothers with ample baking experience.

The new video provides a sneak peek at the kind of festive humor viewers can expect to see from the show. Demonstrating the dynamic between Samberg and Rudolph, the on-screen chemistry of the pair bodes well for the future of Baking It. A large factor in the success of the original series, Making It, was the easy comedy and repertoire between co-hosts Poehler and Offerman, something which the spinoff will doubtlessly hope to emulate when Baking It arrives on Peacock on December 2.
