Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen was asked to choose his favorite Real Housewives franchises. Though there are plenty to choose from, Cohen managed to land on what he believes is the best of the bunch.

There have been nine U.S. Real Housewives franchises total, with seven currently on the air: The Real Housewives of Orange County (the original show of the franchise, premiering in 2006), The Real Housewives of Beverly HillsThe Real Housewives of New York CityThe Real Housewives of New Jersey, The Real Housewives of Potomac, The Real Housewives of Dallas, The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Previously, there was the short-lived The Real Housewives of Washington D.C. and The Real Housewives of Miami, but they have since gone off the air. And, despite the massive amount to choose from, Cohen already had an answer ready when he was asked which one is his favorite.

During a Q&A segment of the For Your Consideration Emmys event in New York City, Cohen was asked which Real Housewives franchise is his favorite. Cohen said it was a "hard" question, but ultimately revealed that The Real Housewives of New York City is closest to his heart, according to Bravo. The New York native still lives in the city, where he not only produces the Real Housewives shows, but hosts a late-night talk show, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. While he lives near the stars of The Real Housewives of New York City, he previously said at the Tribeca Film Festival that he wouldn't ever appear on the show, despite how much he loves it.

Andy Cohen and the Cast of The Real Housewives of New York City

He did, however, recently host the reunion show for The Real Housewives of New York City, during which time he mediated a tense conversation between the stars: Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley, Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Bethenny Frankel, and Tinsley Mortimer. During the conversation, Luann admitted she overreacted during Season 11, during which time she acted entitled and self-involved, according to her cast mates, throwing tantrums and lashing out at the other women.

Despite their flaws, Cohen definitely seems to love the unstable New York cast. He's been by their side for more than a decade now, helping them work through years of issues, including marriages, babies, heartbreak, and career milestones. The Real Housewives of New York is also one of the oldest of the franchises and, fortunately for Cohen (and the fans), it doesn't look like it's going anywhere any time soon.
