With Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man making an appearance alongside Tobey Maguire's in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the Marvel fanbase has been buzzing with rumors about a possible third installment of Garfield's Amazing Spider-Man saga.

The opening of the multiverse in the MCU means that such a film could be made without ruining any of the Marvel canon Spider-Man story. Fans are especially excited because The Amazing Spider-Man had some of the best-ranked villains of the three film series. On Reddit, people have begun to discuss which new or returning villains they would love to see Garfield face off in a new movie.

Mr. Negative

TASM films were praised for bringing less familiar villains to the silver screen, like Lizard and Electro. Continuing with that trend, some Redditors think that Mr. Negative could be an excellent addition to the saga and draw in what might have happened between TASM2 and No Way Home.

On Reddit, Comic_nerd1 wrote, "I would love to see Mr. Negative and bring up the demons that Andrew has." Squishy-Box on Reddit replied, saying, "Exactly this. Plus, he's a new villain so it's a fresh take." Bridging the gap between Garfield's appearances is essential to good continuity, and Mr. Negative would be a new face.

Venom

With the Venom film series currently underway and Eddie Brock's brief end credits scene and a subtle clue to the multiverse in No Way Home, some Redditors think that Venom and Spider-Man may get to meet for the first time since Raimi's third installment. The suggestion has also become an inside joke between Redditors that love all the multiple Peters interactions.

MDubz420 on Reddit joked when saying who they wanted Garfield's Spider-Man to face, writing, "Venom, so Andrew can finally say that he fought an alien." One of the priceless conversations between all three Spider-Men was discussing who they've fought against, and Peter 3, Garfield, was very upset that the other two Peters had gotten to fight alien foes and he hadn't.

Scorpion

Spider-Man villain The Scorpion from the comics

Scorpion would be an excellent pick for a TASM3 villain, especially now that J. Jonah Jameson has been confirmed as a constant across the multiverse. The stinger-wielding supervillain was first introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man comic series--another reason he should be in Garfield's saga.

Smash_hit_fan elaborated on this idea on Reddit, saying, "If we could get another it would be a scorpion. We already got a great sandman in SM3 but we only have scorpion as a brief side villain in the spider-verse and a quick cameo in HC." Getting a more in-depth look that connects Garfield's Peter to more Spider-Man canon would be a great plot device.

Kraven

A well-known villain that hasn't made his way onto the big or small screen yet is Kraven The Hunter. Kraven is different than anything any of the Spider-Man movies has seen so far. He also has a connection to the Sinister Six, which is a rumored future Sony Spider-Man project.

GavinTheGrassMan on Reddit, when asked for a villain prediction, quickly commented, "Kraven." There were quite a few other people on Reddit who suggested Kraven. Another Redditor, JR905 added, "Kraven done right would fit perfectly with TASM."

Rhino

Sony admits Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rhino was terrible

One of the more familiar faces that were predicted as a future villain was Paul Giamatti's Rhino. Fans only got a brief scene between Giamatti's Rhino and Garfield's Spider-Man, and they're dying to get more than Garfield's brief explanation during No Way Home.

Adding to the discussion, Redditor LicenseRevoked wrote, "What about Giamatti's RHINO?!" Rmhitman14 replied to their comment as well, stating, "The movie would surely start with this fight." Since that's where TASM left Peter at the end of the second film, it makes sense to tie up that loose narrative ends.

Spider-Slayers

A concept that's yet to hit the big screen of the Spider-verse is that of the Spider-Slayer robotic army tasked with tracking down and capturing or killing Spider-Man. Designed by Spencer Smythe, the Spider-Slayers have been featured in comics, video games, and Spider-Man animated series, but never live-action.

Amidst discussion of villain options that weren't listed on the original poster's poll, duncetheman52 wrote, "Spider slayer could be cool." They're not alone in this thought, and the violent animatronics would make a unique feat for everyone's favorite web-slinger.

Chameleon

The Chameleon sitting on a chair surrounded by masks in the comics

Die-hard Spider-Man comic fans will know that Chameleon is the very first supervillain that the friendly neighborhood superhero ever fought. With that in mind, Chameleon would make a great addition to the MCU. Additionally, he becomes a member of the Sinister Six--or Twelve--, which has long been rumored to be making its way to the silver screen.

On the Reddit thread, Thekenobiawakens offered, "Chameleon. I heard somewhere that the deleted scene with his father was chameleon in disguise." It's a theory that makes a lot of sense. The last audiences saw of Richard Parker he was careening to Earth in a crashing plane. Not many could survive that, so the Chameleon idea is interesting and an homage to the comics.

Doc Ock

Spider-Man's Doc Ock

Although many fans are calling for new faces in the event of a TASM sequel movie, some would like to see the writers' interpretation of better-known Spider-Man foes. The franchise already has their version of Green Goblin, so the natural next pick is Doc Ock.

Some Redditors think Doc Ock was one of the best No Way Home villains and are dying to see more of him in future films. StarWarsMarvel-More on Reddit commented, "I'd really like to see the TASM universe's Doc Ock." And they're not alone. Love for Doc Ock has skyrocketed since his return to the Spider-verse.

Mysterio

Another villain that fans want to be revisited in the TASM film franchise is Mysterio. Because Garfield's Peter has faced a fair amount of tragedy in a short amount of time, fans think that Mysterio's emotional and mental manipulation could make for a very intriguing plot device.

Redditor FishPie1248 wrote, "I choose Mysterio because think about it. Mysterio can use illusions like Gwen to break down Peter mentally." Because Mysterio is dead in the current MCU, he can't torture Peter about Aunt May. But Mysterio hasn't even been introduced yet in the TASM universe, so it's a perfect opportunity for his mind games.

The Sinister Six

It's long been rumored that all of the Spider-verse film franchises and separate projects like Venom and Morbius have been gearing up to debut a supervillain group. More specifically, the Sinister Six.

Redditors think that, because credit scenes at the end of TASM hinted toward the formation of the group, they will choose them as the main villain for a sequel. Axcel-Wozniak on Reddit wrote, "A Sinister Six with the villains introduced at the end of TASM 2 would be nice and since they are variants, it would be a nice change of pace. "
