Warning! This post contains spoilers for Andor episode 4.Andor episode 4 revealed how Luthen stays hidden from the Empire when convening with Mon Mothma with an antique shop, which holds some unexpected connections to one upcoming Star Wars show: Ahsoka. An Ahsoka show was confirmed in December 2020 as a live-action show centered around Ahsoka Tano, a character initially introduced in animation through Star Wars: The Clone Wars. After Ahsoka's live-action debut, played by Rosario Dawson, in The Mandalorian, her own TV show was granted and confirmed to be in development by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who was also responsible for the character's initial creation.

Since its announcement, the Ahsoka show has been confirmed to take place at the same point on the Star Wars timeline as The Mandalorian: five years after the events of Return of the Jedi. This, alongside confirmation of live-action debuts of Star Wars: Rebels' Sabine Wren, Ezra Bridger, and Grand Admiral Thrawn (established in The Mandalorian) are all but confirmation of Ahsoka being the long-awaited Star Wars: Rebels sequel. Naturally, then, the Ahsoka show can be expected to take some elements from the animated show upon its release in 2023.

One of these elements comes, rather unexpectedly, in a shot of one episode of Andor. In Andor episode 4, Luthen's antique shop contains a surprising link to both Rebels and Ahsoka. In the background of one of the shots in Luthen's store, murals containing the symbols of the Son, the Daughter, and the Father from The Clone Wars' Mortis arc that were seen in Star Wars: Rebels can be spotted. These murals were used in Star Wars: Rebels as the key to the World Between Worlds, a mystical realm that contains the cosmic and living Force operating in unison. This world appears to feature in Ahsoka also, with the official logo for the show containing artwork very reminiscent of the World Between Worlds Ahsoka and Ezra visit during Rebels. While Andor is much more grounded in its tone than other Star Wars projects and likely will not delve into aspects like the Force and especially the World Between Worlds at all, the murals are a neat easter egg connection Andor to Ahsoka.

How The World Between Worlds Could Be Used In Ahsoka

Ezra and Ahsoka in the World Between Worlds in Star Wars Rebels.

With Ahsoka's connection to the world established, the question remains how the Ahsoka show will utilize the realm established in Rebels. The main way this could happen is through recreating some of Star Wars: Rebels' scenes in live-action at the beginning of Ahsoka. As Ahsoka is expected to be a Rebels sequel, and will likely focus on Ahsoka and Sabine's search for Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn, it would make sense for Ahsoka to reiterate the titular characters' connection with Ezra. After all, the reason for Ahsoka's search for Ezra comes from the latter telling the former to find him when she exits the World Between Worlds. Recreating this scene by using a live-action World Between Worlds would not only serve as a refresher behind the motivation for Ahsoka's search for Ezra before flashing forward to The Mandalorian's timeline, but would also catch anyone up tuning in to Ahsoka that potentially has not seen Star Wars: Rebels.

This is the most likely scenario for the World Between Worlds appearing in Ahsoka, as Ezra Bridger destroyed what is seemingly the only entrance to the realm in Star Wars: Rebels. However, that is not to say it is the only possibility. As Dave Filoni is the head writer for the show, as he was with Star Wars: Rebels, it would also make sense if he opted to revisit the concept through Ahsoka by making the former Jedi explore the world more and potentially find another use for it, as the location was likely fleshed out more than just the aspects that audiences got to see when it was created for Rebels. Regardless of how it appears, it is clear that the World Between Worlds will factor into the show in some capacity from its logo, with Andor episode 4 holding a neat connection to encourage speculation and discussion until Ahsoka releases in 2023.
