Diego Luna takes to his official social media account to thank fans for supporting Andor. Star Wars' fourth live-action Disney+ series sees the actor reprise his Rogue One: A Star Wars Story role, Cassian Andor, for his own adventure years before his heroic death on Scarif. Taking place five years before events of the Gareth Edwards' Star Wars anthology film, Andor, which is already confirmed for a two-season run, will directly lead into Rogue One.Critical reviews for Andor hail it as potentially the best Star Wars show thus far — a tall order, considering the fanfare surrounding both The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Unlike its predecessors, season 1 of the series consists of 12 episodes, three of which were already released during its special premiere broadcast on Disney+. They set the tone for a boots-on-the-ground narrative that focuses on the people that contributed to the establishment of the Rebellion. Despite not featuring any Jedi or Sith, the reaction to the series has been largely positive which understandably touches Luna.Related: BBY 5 Explained: Andor's Timeline Is More Important Than You RealizeExpressing his gratitude to everyone who watched Andor's premiere, Luna takes to his official social media account and recalls the long, arduous process of making the series. The actor looks back at the official announcement of his return as Cassian just two years after fans witnessed the character's death in Rogue One. He also celebrates the fact that all of their hard work is now out for the whole world to see. Check out Luna's emotional message below:

Rogue One has been a fan-favorite of Star Wars' Disney era, and a big part of that is its characters. Star Wars is no stranger to great casting choices, choosing then-unknowns like Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford as Luke, Leia, and Han to front the original trilogy. What's unique with the Rogue One cast, particularly Luna, is that he has only appeared in one feature film, and yet made such an impact that Lucasfilm decided to do a two-season series on Disney+ devoted to his character. Currently, Cassian Andor is already a big hit among followers of the space opera, but expect him to become more popular as the show goes on.

Given his appearance in Rogue One, when he ultimately met his end, it's comforting to know that whatever happens, Cassian will come out of Andor alive. But it also doesn't take away from the show's stakes, thanks to the way it is filmed, not to mention the gritty nature of its story. If anything, learning more about Cassian makes his future and eventual death so much more meaningful.

Andor airs every Wednesday on Disney+.
