Andor is trudging along toward its season finale, bringing to a close what many fans are considering a near-perfect season of television. Despite some early reports of relatively low viewership, Andor interest is now near The Mandalorian's, which has hitherto been the premiere Star Wars streaming hit. The series is utterly fascinating to watch, from the stunning visuals and practical effects to the incredibly intriguing and intimate storytelling. Remarkably, Andor is still ingrained in the Star Wars of it all without any mention of the Jedi, Force, or Skywalkers, thanks to its deeply-nuanced structural examination of both the Rebel Alliance and the Empire.

Interestingly, the show has solely relied on two established heroes – Cassian Andor and Mon Mothma – and besides a few recognizable cameos, it's a sea of completely new characters. This is in stark contrast to the likes of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka, which incorporate various characters from across the canon. However, season two of Andor might be different, and as it races towards the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, it might incorporate some familiar faces such as these.

Bail Organa

Given his return in Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jimmy Smits seems like he’s happy to keep playing Bail Organa as long as he can. Logically speaking, it is actually quite surprising that he hasn’t been featured yet – perhaps the finale holds a special surprise. Bail and Mon are longtime and staunch allies throughout this time, so unless they are still trying to suss out the possibility of working together on a rebellion, Bail and her should be in contact.

Bringing in Bail in season two, whether as a brief cameo or a more prominent recurring role, would also be a clever way to acknowledge the Skywalker saga. Importantly, he does tell Mon Mothma of Obi-Wan’s fate, though without delving into his mission on Tatooine and Leia’s parentage, so his inclusion here could entail that.

R2-D2 & C-3PO

There are very few Star Wars properties in which R2-D2 and C-3PO do not feature, and Andor is among them. However, many fans would love even a momentary glimpse at two of the most beloved droids in Star Wars, and in the expansion of the Rebel Alliance in season two, this seems possible.

They’ll already be introducing K-2SO, presumably, so it begs the question of if these droids ever crossed paths. It would be cool to have R2-D2 be the one to unlock K-2SO’s personality or sentience and then see how it and C-3PO interacted.

Orson Krennic

Orson Krennic in Rogue One Star Wars

If season two is aiming to set up Rogue One really well, it should be done on two fronts, both in the Rebel Alliance and the Empire. As to the latter, this can be done by bringing back Ben Mendelsohn as Orson Krennic. He needn’t be involved in any of the action, but a short and sweet cameo would be welcome in showcasing more of the Empire’s inner workings. While Colonel Wullf Yularen, who fans will remember from The Clone Wars, cameoed in season one, they could still incorporate other Imperial leaders like Krennic – plus, he is a better option than a deaged Tarkin again.

It would be very intriguing to see how he and Cassian’s paths might nearly cross or if there’s a possibility he and the Rebels could learn about the Death Star earlier, but they unknowingly miss it. At the very least, there should be some sort of reference or Easter egg to Krennic and his work if he doesn’t appear like this.

Tivik

Cassian Andor speaking with Tivik at Kafrene in Rogue One A Star Wars Story

One of the most unexpected ways to set up Rogue One is to include Tivik. He was the man who first told Cassian about Bodhi Rook’s defection from the Empire, the man who Cassian shot in the back to protect that knowledge and the Rebellion. Including him in Andor would add so much more depth and impact to his death and Cassian’s actions for the Rebel Alliance.

If they wanted to set up this scene in Rogue One, they could actually expand Tivik’s role beyond a cameo. He’s an informant working for Cassian, so it might be interesting to see how they first met, whether they were true allies or just compatriots on a mission.

Rebel Alliance Generals & Ministers

Rebel Leaders in Rogue One

Season two will show the true formation of the rebellion as an organized alliance, and as such, it can delve into some unknown Alliance facts fans aren't familiar with - most importantly, while united for a single cause, they were united for all sorts of reasons. Season two, therefore, might show the internal squabble and tribulations that come with varied political ideologies.

Like Bail Organa, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some generals and ministers from Rogue One. Specifically, General Draven would be a welcome sight as he seemingly served as Cassian’s commander and was eager to achieve victory by nearly any means necessary. Furthermore, General Dodonna would be a worthy inclusion since he was in the original trilogy and Rebels with Mon Mothma – plus, it would be a great excuse to feature Ian McElhinney, Barristan Selmy from Game of Thrones, again.

Wedge Antilles

Star Wars Wedge Antilles in an X-wing cockpit.

In Andor, there isn’t really any justification for using the de-aging technology that Star Wars has been known to favor, but if there were one character it could be used on for a fun cameo, it would be Wedge Antilles. He is one of the Rebel Alliance’s best pilots, and thanks to his recruitment in Rebels, he’s in the fight at around the same time as Andor.

Along with the lack of lightsabers, it is the relative surfeit of space travel and flying that makes Andor feel less like classic Star Wars. Perhaps in season two, they will incorporate that more, though the full-on space fights Wedge is often in aren’t necessary for the story. Nevertheless, it would be another cool way to bring Andor in on the grand narrative.

Captain Rex

Jango Fett Captain Rex

There is a fantastic opportunity to explore Cassian’s relationship with Clones and Stormtroopers, especially following the reveal that his adoptive father, Clem, was executed by some for trying to stop a riot. Like Kanan in Rebels, he must have a deep hatred for them, but it begs the question if that would extend to the men under the armor, including the clones.

In that case, they should have Temura Morrison come into play as Captain Rex or one of the other clones following their decommissioning by the Empire in favor of conscripted soldiers. This could have him before being brought into the fray by the Ghost Crew as he lives his life with Wolf and Gregor away from the Empire’s peering eyes.

Ahsoka Tano

Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian

While many fans hope that Andor wouldn’t delve into the Jedi and go for lightsabers – as the first season proves it isn’t necessary – there might be one exception if it was Ahsoka Tano wielding the lightsabers. She is one of the most beloved Star Wars characters, and there doesn’t seem to be a shortage of fans’ interest in seeing more of her.

Interestingly, incorporating Ahsoka wouldn’t actually have to entail having Rosario Dawson get into full makeup and prosthetics. In fact, her face could be hidden if she cameos as one of the Rebel Alliance informants. Importantly, Cassian Andor was also a Fulcrum, and if that element of his story is incorporated into Andor, they should also feature some other Fulcrums, including Ahsoka.

Darth Vader

Darth Vader in the Emperor's throne room in Return of the Jedi

Darth Vader’s involvement in Rogue One is quite interesting as it is not entirely necessary, but it did lead to one of his most incredible Star Wars fights as he decimated the Rebel soldiers in the dark hallway. Given Lucasfilm's track record, it wouldn’t be all that surprising for Darth Vader to feature in some way in Andor still, but it would be best if it is kept as small as possible. He demands the attention of viewers, but including him in anything more than a small cameo – perhaps over a hologram – would take away from the intensely intimate storylines.

If by chance, they decided not to go with Darth Vader but still wanted a menacing Imperial force, there are other options. Emperor Palpatine or The Grand Inquisitor might be interesting inclusions, but besides Darth Vader, Admiral Thrawn would be the next best thing.

Jyn Erso

Jyn Erso in Rogue One A Star Wars Story

The easiest way to establish how season two leads into Rogue One is to feature Jyn Erso and/or her father, Galen Erso. As with a potential Krennic cameo, it would be important that Cassian not actually interact or note them. Instead, if Saw Gerrera is to return, which seems likely, it would make sense for there to be a brief scene between him and Jyn if they’re still in contact.

Overall, this is nothing essential to the story, but it could give Jyn some more attention, which she deserves. Like Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso is a fascinatingly complex character, and it would be great if she even got her own spin-off which could be even more removed from the classic Star Wars formula as she runs away from both the Empire and the Rebellion.
