After a brief break following the finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Star Wars franchise returned with the unexpected hit in Andor. Showing a darker time before the events of Rogue One allowed the series to really show the corrupt authoritarian ways of the Empire and its impact on the galaxy.

The finale made Cassian come full circle, finally understanding his purpose and wanting to fight the evil that controls the galaxy. With Season 2 now currently filming and set to explore more of the Alliance, there's also many plot points set up in Season 1 that will definitely need to be resolved.

10 The Search for Cassian's Sister

Andor's sister appears in the first episode of Andor.

After being rescued from Kenari by Maarva and Clem Andor, he was sadly separated from his sister and tribe. First mentioned in the premiere episode, Cassian searched Morlana One's night scene for his sister last seen on Kenari. Early on in production, some had suggested Adria Arjona would be playing his sister, but of course this is not the case since they share a romantic past.

Recently, Diego Luna spoke to Collider about this story thread, stating "I don't think it's ever over. I don't think it's over in Rogue One, because I see that as one thing. It's like the feeling, it's one of those things that kind of follow every decision you make, or never letting [go] anymore, not again. That kind of thing."

9 Melshi Will Spread the Word of the Rebel Cause

Melshi in Andor

In the final episode of the Narkina 5 arc, fellow escapee Ruescott Melshi suggests to Cassian that they split up and tell more people about the Rebels wanting to go against the Empire. By the events of Rogue One, Melshi is already a sergeant in the Rebel Alliance.

Since the official Rebel Alliance on Yavin IV has yet to be formed during the timeline of Andor, they are mainly divided into different networks of Rebel Cells. Hopefully the character will return in the second season, as it could further build his friendship with Cassian.

8 The Rebel Alliance Will Be Officially Formed

Diego Luna as Cassian Andor in Rogue One A Star Wars Story Rebel Alliance

During the events of Star Wars: Rebels which takes place concurrently with Andor, the Rebel Alliance still has yet to be officially organized. With the Alliance instead being divided into different networks in different regions, they will eventually all come together to be as one.

Following the Ghorman Massacre, Mon Mothma publicly condemned the Empire, leaving her seat on the Senate and officially forming the Rebel Alliance with all the different networks. This event will have to be explored in Andor considering the second season's timeline will explore the two years leading into Rogue One.

7 Did Kino Loy Survive?

Andy Serkis as Kino Loy in Andor Episode 10

Andy Serkis as Kino Loy had some of the best quotes in Andor. His character arc was brilliant as someone initially just trying to serve his sentence who came to realize that the Empire has ulterior motives.

Despite never being seen leaving the prison, there can still be hope that Loy made it out alive. Perhaps one of his fellow prisoners helped him swim. If his character isn't further explored, it would be quite sad, but it would also make his character so much more resonant if he didn't make it out.

6 A Bigger Role for the Senate

Bail Organa and Padme Amidala in the Republic Senate from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

While briefly shown in the first season, the Galactic Senate played a huge role in the events of the Prequel Trilogy. Throughout these scenes, Mon Mothma is shown not to have the support of other senators. But one who did support her was Bail Organa.

Although he didn't appear in the first season, CinemaBlend reported that Jimmy Smits was in talks to reprise his role as Bail Organa in the show. Being instrumental in the founding of the Alliance and a close ally of Mothma, it would make perfect sense for Organa to appear in the second season.

5 Syril Karn will Join the Empire

Syril Karn looks at a hologram of Cassian in Andor

The first few episodes showed that Syril just wanted to do his job right and bring in a criminal for murdering his comrades. Once the scale of his investigation grew bigger, it gave him more of a reason to resent Andor, as the case was given to higher-ups in the Empire.

Thanks to his persistence and passion for stopping the Rebels, Karn stops at nothing at trying to impress ISB agent Dedra Meero. Karn even went as far to save Meero during the massive riot on Ferrix. Now having earned her trust, it would make perfect sense for his character to rise up the ranks of the Empire and become an important asset in capturing Cassian.

4 Cassian will Meet His Commanding Officer, General Draven

General Draven in Star Wars Rogue One

Davits Draven was the mysterious General introduced in Rogue One. Despite being told specific orders by Mothma, Draven showed more of a shady side as he instructed Andor not to follow these orders and kill Galen Erso. Not caring for authority is a very interesting trait of his and it would be interesting to see Rebel leaders arguing over how to do things properly in the second season.

Alistair Petrie who played the character spoke about the possibility of returning with InsideTheMagic, saying "Oh, I would love to say something, but I can’t, I’ve signed an NDA or whatever. If the storytelling allows me to appear in it, then I would in a heartbeat because I love the personal and the possibilities of the stories they can tell around Diego’s character, so we’ll see."

3 Luthen's Fate

Luthen Rael in Andor Episode 10.

Season 1 of Andor established that Luthen runs his own Rebel network. Working hand-in-hand with Mon Mothma, it's fair to say he's an important leader in the Rebel cause. Interestingly, he is nowhere seen in Rogue One or the Original Trilogy.

During his monologue, he says "I burn my life to make a sunrise I know I'll never see". Luthen seems to know and understand that his endgame is death. Thanks to Tony Gilroy's fantastic writing he has quickly become a favorite among many fans. His eventual sacrifice will undoubtedly break fans' hearts.

2 K-2SO's Arrival

Cassian Andor and K-2SO in Rogue One.

Despite being announced at D23 2018 to appear in the series, Alan Tudyk's K-2SO ultimately did not appear in the first season. Tony Gilroy and Lucasfilm have since confirmed the character will return in the second season (via Collider). In a show that's otherwise pretty dark, K-2SO's dry humor would be a nice contrast to it.

Designed as a KX Imperial Security Droid, K-2SO initially tried to kill Cassian before he was reprogrammed and joined the Rebel cause. Hopefully the second season will explore their origins and show more of a buddy-cop dynamic.

1 Saw Gerrera's Downfall

Saw Gerrera and Mon Mothma argue over his tactics in Rebels.

Star Wars: Rebels may be the quintessential Star Wars show to watch for Andor. The series explores the different Rebel network including the Phoenix cell run by Hera Syndulla and Kanan Jarrus. During the series, they have also worked with Saw Gerrera.

Known for his unorthodox tactics, Gerrera and Mon Mothma would often argue over their views of how to fight the Empire. The argument that led to this is scene in Rebels and hopefully will be translated to live-action for Andor. It would be fascinating to see what lead him to his extremist tactics.
