The Star Wars universe is back once more with the brand-new Disney+ series Andor, starring Diego Luna's character from Rogue One. Taking place five years before Cassian's death on Scarif, the series promises to take a fresh approach to the franchise with new storytelling and characters to usher the series into a new era.

Andor features mostly new characters to the franchise, many of whom will come into play as the eponymous character comes to battle the villainous Empire. However, over the course of this journey, many of the show's characters cannot be trusted.

Dedra Meero

Denise Gough as Dedra Meero in Andor

Though audiences have not yet met Denise Gough's character, Dedra Meero is sure to play a massive role in upcoming episodes of Andor. Meero is a high-ranking Imperial officer who will become aware of Rebel activity in the galaxy and seek to stamp it out once and for all before a true threat can arise from their actions.

Like many other Imperial officers during the Empire's reign, Meero appears to be cruel and unreasonable, especially when it comes to opposition from the people they rule over. As one of the primary villains of the series, Meero is sure to prove herself an untrustworthy and ultimately unsavory character as future episodes unfold.

Linus Mosk

Alex Ferns as Linus Mosk in Andor

Alex Ferns portrays Linus Mosk, a sergeant in the Pre-Mor division that serves under Syril Karn while investigating the murder of two Imperial guards. A far more compelling leader than Karn himself, Mosk is the one with true power over the soldiers sent after Cassian Andor.

Mosk is hinted at having an absurd pleasure in his status above the citizens of the Ferrix and the neighboring planets. He finds joy in keeping the common people under his boot and will certainly prove to be a pain in Cassian's side as the season goes on. Nevertheless, any man that takes such cruel enjoyment in the subjugation of others is not someone worth trusting.

Syril Karn

Corporate Security Syril Karn in Andor

Syril Karn is the Deputy Inspector for the Pre-Mor Authority who is portrayed by Kyle Soller. After learning of a mysterious double-homicide, Karn refuses to sit idly by and defies orders to investigate the crime, catching the trail of Cassian Andor along the way.

Though Karn ultimately works for the Empire, his motivations are not entirely evil. After all, he believes himself to be tracking down a killer and a menace to society. While he does appear to be set up as a villain, audiences remain in the dark about where his true allegiances lie, making him a true mystery in the series.

Saw Gerrera

Saw Gerrera in Andor

Future episodes of Andor will see the return of Forest Whitaker as his Rogue One character Saw Gerrera, a leader of an extremist cell of Rebels in the days preceding the Galactic Civil War. He and his group are known for their violent methods, making them pariahs to the Empire and Rebels alike.

Though he fights for the side of good, Gerrera's tactics are surprisingly brutal, making him a divisive character, to say the least. Fans can empathize with his desire to bring the Empire to its knees, but can rarely agree with his manner of doing so. All the more, Gerrera is the type of leader who would compromise his morals if it meant furthering his cause, making him quite untrustworthy as an ally.

Luthen Rael

Stellan Skarsgard in the Andor trailer

Stellan Skarsgard joins the Star Wars universe as the mysterious Luthen Rael, a man who Cassian Andor encounters on Ferrix. Rael recruits Andor to join the burgeoning Rebel Alliance, vowing to teach him how to fight the Empire in a way that will really matter.

Skarsgard is an accomplished actor, who proves in his first episodes of Andor that he can bring an admirable level of mystery to a character such as Rael. Though he seems to be an ally of the show's protagonist, Skarsgard hides something behind his eyes that lets audiences know that there is more to him than one may initially guess.

Cassian Andor

Diego Luna as Cassian Andor in a dark coat

Diego Luna returns once more as Cassian Andor for his self-titled spinoff series, which takes place five years before his noble death on Scarif, as depicted in the events of Rogue One. Andor attempts to survive on the rough streets of Ferrix, only to wind up caught in a murder investigation and a festering Rebellion.

Audiences may be more familiar with the honorable Cassian Andor of Rogue One's final minutes, but they must not forget the many unsavory acts that he is implied to have committed in the years before. Cassian may be the show's protagonist, but that does not make him a trustworthy character by any means. In fact, future episodes will no doubt show Cassian's darker side, as he does whatever it takes to take down the Empire, even if it means betraying those who trust him.

Mon Mothma

Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma in Andor

Genevieve O'Reilly returns in this series as Mon Mothma, the great Rebel leader from the original trilogy. Though she has not yet appeared in Andor, promotional material has shown that she will be depicted in the Imperial Senate as she attempts to garner secret support for her growing Rebellion.

Audiences know that Mon Mothma ultimately fights for the side of good, but this series will show that, in order to do so, she must hide her true intentions from her Imperial comrades. The senator will no doubt resort to deceptive tactics in order to conceal her rebellious actions, remaining in the shadows for now as the alliance grows.

Bix Caleen

Bix Caleen smiling in Andor.

Adria Arjona joins the Star Wars franchise as Bix Caleen, a friend of Cassian Andor who is caught up in the chaos surrounding his murder of two Imperial guards. An on-again-off-again business partner of Andor's, she uses her ties to Luthen Rael to get Cassian off-planet.

Bix Caleen may have skimmed off the top of her dealings with Cassian, but she does prove to be a trustworthy friend to the show's star. She keeps his secrets as best she can, though she eventually learns that not everyone she trusts is as loyal as she is.

Maarva Andor

Fiona Shaw as Maarva in Andor,

Maarva Andor, portrayed by Fiona Shaw, is the adoptive mother of Cassian, who she found on his home planet of Kenari. Fiercely protective of her only remaining family member, Maarva tries to keep Cassian out of trouble, but cannot stop her son from falling into the Empire's sights.

Maarva seems to truly love Cassian, having raised him as her own. She proves her loyalty to her son when the Imperials storm her home, refusing to give them any information that would put Cassian in danger. While it is unclear how exactly Maarva will play into future episodes of the show's first season, fans can rest assured that she will not betray those who place their trust in her, especially Cassian.

B2EMO

B2EMO in Star Wars Andor

B2EMO is the personal salvage assistance droid of Maarva Andor who has developed a deep fondness for Cassian over the years. B2 finds himself caught up in Cassian's various antics, often earning him chastisement from Maarva, who doesn't approve of their mischief.

B2EMO may not be the most capable droid, but he certainly looks out for those he loves. The droid wants nothing more than to be taken along with Cassian on his exploits and would follow him to the edge of the galaxy. His adorable design and steadfast loyalty are part of what makes the new droid a fan-favorite character for viewers of Andor.
