With the Star Wars live-action series Andor releasing on Disney+, viewers may wonder how many episodes there will be and when the season 1 finale will drop on the streaming service. Shot entirely in the UK, Tony Gilroy’s Andor serves as a prequel to the spinoff movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The series features Diego Luna’s reprisal of Rebel spy Cassian Andor, whose adventures eventually lead him to steal the plans for the Imperial Death Star.

Andor is set across the five years prior to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This period of time in Star Wars history is pivotal, as it’s when the Rebel Alliance was desperately trying to build up their resources and numbers against the Galactic Empire. Featuring an ensemble cast – including Forest Whitaker’s Rebel leader Saw Gerrera and new salvage droid B2EMO – Andor season 1 will reveal more about how Cassian transformed from a thief to a dedicated revolutionary during these years.

How Many Episodes Are In Andor Season 1

B2EMO in Star Wars Andor

Andor season 1 will be 12 episodes in total, giving it the honor of Disney+'s longest original live-action series (at least until Marvel's 18-episode series Daredevil: Born Again premieres in 2024). The first three episodes of Andor will premiere on Wednesday, September 21, at 12 AM (midnight) PST / 3 AM EST. The remaining episodes will release one per week, also on Wednesdays and at the same time of day. Here's an additional fun fact: all 12 episodes have British directors, possibly due to the series filming in London, England.
