Who is the aerospace engineer Monica mentions in episode 5 of WandaVision? The moment is brief and could easily be overlooked in a jam-packed episode, but it may tie into future Marvel Cinematic Universe movie installments - specifically, the upcoming reinvention of the Fantastic Four.

After being expelled from the Hex in episode 4, Monica is determined to return as soon as possible without sustaining damage from Wanda. While she and Darcy are brainstorming ideas, Monica surmises that a fall-out shelter on wheels, equipped with "lead for photons, cadmium for neutrons, tantalum for seismic blasts" would be the best option. Looking at the algorithm, she says she knows someone who'd be up to the challenge of figuring it out and proceeds to text this person.

Monica's travels through the cosmos may not have been documented in the MCU or on WandaVision, but she has a storied career in the Marvel Comics. It's entirely possible her intergalactic exploration has led her to the most famous aerospace engineer, Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, the leader of the Fantastic Four. Richards is a genius scientist and his brush with cosmic radiation imbued him with plasticity, among other abilities. Someone who has made advancements in space and interdimensional travel would likely be familiar with the world Wanda concocted and seems a perfect choice to assist Monica and S.W.O.R.D. The Fantastic Four's basic mission is to protect others from threats rooted in science, after all.

Since Marvel has not yet made a proper Fantastic Four film due to licensing issues, officially introducing Reed's character into the fold would make the most sense. Additionally, there's plenty of evidence to suggest that Agnes is actually Agatha Harkness, who shares a history with Reed. In the comics Agatha babysits Reed's son Franklin, protects him from the Frightful Four, and rescues the Fantastic Four from their clutches. She is an ally to the team, and it would be a fascinating dynamic to explore if Reed made it on the show and could properly identify Agnes.

While Reed Richards is the top choice of fan speculation, some other potential super-smart engineers Monica could be referencing are Blue Marvel, a lesser-known Marvel superhero who developed powers from exposure to the Negative Zone or Hank McCoy, the brilliant scientist turned "Beast" and a founder of the X-Men. However, with the introduction of Evan Peters' Quicksilver, it may signal an overload in mutants. It could also be someone obscure we haven't met yet. Time will tell if we meet Monica's aerospace engineer friend in WandaVision and if they will have anything to do with the dissolution of Wanda's warped reality.
