And Just Like That has been a bit of a mixed bag. Critics and fans have conflicting opinions about the show's tone and the characters' decisions, with some liking this new direction and others outright rejecting it. Still, the show has successfully revived interest for the venerable franchise, even if it never manages to recapture the magic that made the original so iconic.

Just two episodes away from its conclusion, the show still has several questions that need addressing. And with no news of a season 2, episode ten might as well be the end of this Sex and the City chapter, making these answers all the more necessary.

Anthony's Newly Single Life

Sex and the City 2 has aged terribly, mainly because of its absurd use of stereotypes. Having Stanford and Anthony getting married was always a controversial choice, but fans did want to see how their marriage would work in And Just Like That. Unfortunately, Willie Garson's tragic passing put an abrupt stop to the storyline.

The show wrote Stanford off by sending him to China, leaving Anthony effectively single. And while he has appeared more in recent episodes, mainly as the fourth member of the titular friend group, little to no attention has been paid to his personal life post-Stanford. And Just Like That needs to give him a proper storyline dealing with his new situation as a single fifty-something gay man, so hopefully, it'll happen in the last two episodes.

Seema's Romantic Life

Carrie's realtor, Seema, quickly became one of the best new characters in the show. Her spontaneous personality and determination make her a breath of fresh air and does a lot to cover the Samantha-shaped hole that currently exists.

Seema's storyline has mainly focused on her love life, or lack thereof. Fans know she uses several dating apps, but they haven't seen her on a date. Seema is incredibly likable, and fans wouldn't mind seeing her as a series regular should there be a season 2. However, season 1 would do good to include some scenes showing her romantic life, providing more layers to this already intriguing character.

Nya's Struggles With Motherhood

Dr. Nya Wallace at the bottom of the subway stairs in And Just Like That.

Nya is one of the most intelligent characters in And Just Like That, and one of the best additions to the cast. She is Miranda's professor at NYU, a strong-willed woman dealing with difficulties to become pregnant.

Throughout the past eight episodes, fans have seen Nya's journey with IVF while also seeing her struggling with the idea of motherhood. Her husband is very supportive of her, but there's still the lingering question of whether they'll give it another shot, explore other methods like adoption, or stop trying altogether. Nya's story has been one of the most compelling parts of the show, and she deserves proper closure, whatever her final choice is.

Charlotte's Relationship With Rock

Charlotte with her daughters in And Just Like That

Rock's journey with gender identity has been one of the lingering storylines in And Just Like That. Charlotte's open-minded attitude towards the whole thing has also been refreshingly pleasant, showing that, for all her flaws, Charlotte is still willing to learn and grow for the sake of her family.

Still, the show should address the situation at least one more time. Rock is still exploring her identity, and it's understandable if she can't provide a definitive answer about who she is. However, Charlotte could go the extra mile and inform herself about gender identity, thus becoming an ally to Rock. The storyline could be powerful and open the door for Charlotte's arc in a potential season 2.

Brady's Reaction To Miranda's Choices

Miranda's teenage son, Brady, has been a divisive presence in And Just Like That. His storyline revolves around his very active sexual life, made even more uncomfortable by the fact he still lives with his parents. However, there's a perfect opportunity to give him a genuinely meaningful story by having him find out about Miranda and Steve's divorce (more on that later) and her blossoming relationship with Che.

Fans don't really know Brady, so there's no saying how he'll react to the news. However, he's arguably the most important person in Miranda's life, and the show needs to address how he'll deal with his parents' separation and his mother's sexual fluidity.

Miranda's Relationship With Che

Without a doubt, Miranda's blossoming relationship with Che Díaz is the most divisive part of the sequel series. Che isn't one of And Just Like That's most likable characters, and Miranda cheating on Steve with them doesn't do either character any favor.

The trailer for episode nine reveals that Che isn't interested in an exclusive relationship, leaving Miranda in a very weird position. Will she be okay with having an open relationship with Che, or will she prefer to return to the single life she so loathed in her thirties?

Miranda's Marriage To Steve

And what about Steve? Fans of the franchise are livid at the show's treatment of Steve, a fan-favorite character that was also one of the best male figures in the original series. Yes, Miranda and Steve's relationship was full of ups and downs, but there was genuine love between them. And Just Like That acts as if Miranda never felt happy during her marriage, which contradicts everything fans thought they knew about them.

Episode eight featured Miranda coming clean about her affair and asking for a divorce. Steve agrees, but things between them aren't over yet. And even if they can't make things work out because their marriage does seem like it's over, the show still needs to give them a proper send-off.

Carrie's Dating Life

Carrie is dating again, or at least trying to. She went out with a teacher, but the date ended terribly when they got drunk and threw up on each other. They later met again and agreed to go out on a second date that will take place in episode 9.

The story has the potential to be truly compelling and provide valuable insights into the dating life of a fifty-something New York woman. Carrie had her share of bad flings during Sex and the City's original run, but what would dating life look for her in NYC's current landscape? The show needs to give a straight answer as to what Carrie will do going forward; will the teacher stay, or will Carrie choose the single life that was once the franchise's bread and butter?

Carrie Having Closure After Big's Death

And Just Like That threw one of the franchise's biggest curveballs during its first episode by killing off Mr. Big. The infamously hard-to-get character was Carrie's primary love interest throughout six seasons and two movies, but the couple finally seemed at a happy and stable place before death struck.

The show has paid surprisingly little attention to Carrie's grief, and she has yet to receive proper closure. A planned Mr. Big cameo for the season finale was recently scrapped in light of the accusations against Chris Noth, so the show will need to find a new way to give Carrie some much-needed closure after the love of her life's death.

Will There Be A Season 2?

Miranda, Carrie, and Charlotte in a restaurant scene in And Just Like That.

Arguably the biggest question going into episode 10 of And Just Like That is whether there'll be a second season. HBO Max originally advertised it as a mini-series, but some shows now have second and even third seasons despite the fact that they were originally meant to be limited.

Sex and the City has a built-in audience who would surely return for another season despite And Just Like That's less than stellar reception. There's currently no news on a potential season 2, but there's always a chance it'll happen. So, as the last episode approached, fans couldn't help but wonder: will Carrie Bradshaw rock her Manolos again?
