The popular Twitch streamer, Amouranth, claimed that her recent house fire is suspect to be arson, according to authorities. Kaitlyn Siragusa, also known as Amouranth on the streaming platform, is the most-watched woman on Twitch. She has garnered more than 4.1 million followers and streams regularly on the platform. Amouranth usually streams her real life and is popular for her incredible cosplay skills. Most of her content shows the streamer donning different costumes or just chatting with her viewers.

Amouranth has reported that she has been swatted several times, which is when viewers call local law enforcement and make a false report at a streamer’s address. Most times the reports are so extreme that the SWAT team is called, making for extremely dangerous confrontations between creators and authorities. Amouranth claimed she deals with those incidents all the time and said she created a good relationship with local law enforcement to ensure things don’t get too heated during future reports. The Twitch streamer also claimed someone attempted to launch fireworks at her home but was stopped red-handed. In the most recent incident, the creator was allegedly the target of a more extreme crime.

First reported by Kotaku, Amouranth explained in a Twitter thread that her most recent house fire is suspected to be arson. The streamer claimed an investigation is underway and that officials believe the fire was started intentionally. The incident on Friday, August 13, and while “the cause of the fire has not yet been determinedinvestigators strongly suspect arson.” Authorities are in the process of reviewing surveillance footage of the incident to “try and catch the potential suspect.” According to Amouranth, she is “ok.” She also said that “the fur babies are all ok too.” The fire erupted at the side of her home. She claimed that the blaze originated from “the area where my trashcan is kept,” though authorities are still working on identifying a suspect.

While it’s still unconfirmed that the fire was arson, it wouldn’t be surprising considering Amouranth’s fame. Twitch streamers are often victimized by viewers who want attention or want to cause problems for creators while they stream. Famous streamer xQc claimed he moved during the height of his fame to avoid getting swatted. For content creators, the safest thing to do is keep personal information on the down-low.

Dream, a famous YouTuber, keeps his identity completely private so his viewers cannot track him in any way, shape, or form. He keeps his personal life hidden to protect from not only the obstacle brought on by fame but also to prevent targeted attacks. Like Amouranth said in her Twitter thread, it’s important for Twitch streamers and content creators to build strong relationships with law enforcement to stay protected against potential attacks.
