Popular Twitch streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa has recently been banned from Twitch, Instagram and Tiktok. The streamer is known for recording streams from a hot tub, as well as hosting ASMR streams which involve whispering seductively into a microphone for viewers to enjoy. Amouranth suffered through a house fire back in August, which the streamer reportedly believed to be the result of arson.

Twitch has recently become involved in a number of public controversies, leaving both streamers and viewers unhappy with the site. Offensive language and harassment has become steadily more prevalent on the live streaming service, with streamers and their fans facing harassment from various users. Although this issue has been brought to the attention of Twitch administrators, no changes were made to sufficiently address the increasingly hostile environment. On September 1 a streamer and viewer protest titled #ADayOffTwitch was held, which dropped the website's typical traffic by about 15%. However, so far Twitch has enacted little change after the protest to address the inciting issues.

A report from Dot Esports reveals that Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa is now banned from Twitch, Instagram and Tiktok. This marks the streamer's fifth ban from Twitch, with her highly suggestive content reportedly leading to those previous incidents. However, no specific reason has been given for Amouranth's recent expulsion from multiple platforms. The ASMR streamer has also not been removed as an official Twitch partner, indicating that her ban from the live stream site could be temporary. On her personal Twitter account, Kaitlyn has expressed that she is financially stable and will continue producing content for YouTube, including a discussion of her widespread bans.

Live streaming has become a massive industry in the last several years, with successful streamers able to make a sizable profit. A recent Twitch hack revealed streamer payouts, along with other confidential information, which reveals exactly how much some live streamers can make. Twitch's most successful streamers, who specialize in streaming games, have earned millions of dollars after only a few years on the site. While more niche streamers like Amouranth may not make quite as much money as the site's top earners, this leak demonstrates how successful these individuals can become through streaming in a very short amount of time.

While the reason for Amouranth's ban is not yet clear, this is not the streamer's first time being banned from Twitch. Her expulsion from both Instagram and Tiktok is quite unusual, however, since these three sites are not owned by any shared parent company. This suggests that something has gone wrong for Amouranth across all three of those media feeds, leaving YouTube as her only way to produce new content and explain the situation. Thankfully Amouranth's previous success on Twitch has left her financially secure, making the ban wave little more than an inconvenience.
