Today, Innersloth, developers of Among Us, announced an anniversary stream coming up in honor of the game’s third year. At this point, most people know Among Us, even if they haven’t played or watched it. An influx of Twitch streamers playing Among Us during the 2020 COVID-19 quarantine made it an international phenomenon, so much so that Innersloth canceled the planned sequel so the team could continue building an audience with the original.

Now, Among Us is showing up at E3, one of the biggest gaming events of the year. During the showcases, the game’s next update was shown off, which will increase the number of players allowed per game by 50% and add many new features. There are a number of questions regarding the upcoming content. Even the new colors being introduced are under scrutiny thanks to their similarity to preexisting colors in-game.

Thankfully, it seems gamers will have the chance to get answers to some of their questions on June 15 during a livestream. Innersloth tweeted via the official Among Us Twitter account that it will be hosting a third-anniversary livestream on Twitch tomorrow. The update is also set to release tomorrow, so the development team will be playing and answering questions to help “show off the new stuff” in the hours before the update goes live. The stream starts at 10:30 AM PT on the Innersloth Twitch channel.

Innersloth has been feeding fans small bits of information throughout recent months, trying to get people more excited for this huge update. While this will be the biggest update for Among Us in some time, the development team is dedicated to making small changes as well, including giving players the ability to honk the horn on Airship, the most recent map to be added to the game. Between Innersloth’s dedication and mods available for PC players, the game is consistently improving and keeping the game relevant, even if its player count isn’t quite as high as it was in 2020.

The audience for Among Us is still hefty, to say the least, but questions have been raised regarding just how long Among Us will remain popular. It’s likely that given the slew of new content and possibilities with this new update, Among Us will have a small resurgence. One big tell for this will be how many viewers the livestream tomorrow receives. There are certainly plenty of people that will try the update for themselves regardless of the livestream's content, but there’s likely going to be a subset of the game’s audience whose hours playing the game in the coming weeks will be determined by how well their Among Us questions are answered by Innersloth.
