Among Us is the hit social deduction game from InnerSloth, and fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the game's new map. The Airship is set to release soon, and it will have new tasks and features. Although details remain scarce, a fun way InnerSloth could shake up gameplay is by changing the way Venting works.

Vents are an important feature for Impostors in Among Us. Currently, Impostors are the only ones who can Vent, which means they can sneak inside a ventilation duct to hide from other players or move around through the duct system. It can be useful for hiding and popping out of surprise locations for a kill - but it can also make crewmates extra wary of being around vents themselves.

Even though it's an ability only officially used by Impostors, there are mods that let everyone Vent in Among Us. While this is a lot of fun, it's unlikely developer InnerSloth will actually make this feature official. However, Among Us' new map could bring some other changes to the way Venting works in the game that would shake up gameplay and make matches even more fun.

How New Maps In Among Us Can Change Venting

A simple change to Venting could allow users to pull furniture or other items over vents. This way, Impostors couldn't pop out of them. Or, if an Impostor is hiding in a duct and enough vents are covered, then it could effectively trap them inside. It would add an extra edge of tension to every game, and it could be a whole lot of fun.

While many of Among Us' usual tasks are likely returning in the new map, the Airship, InnerSloth has already announced new tasks will come to the Airship as well. Changes to Venting, like moving items over vents, could very well happen in the update. And if it isn't added in the Airship update, it could always be added in another new Among Us map after the Airship. Overall, it could be a great way for crewmates to fight back and add a bit more strategy to the way Impostors use Vent.

Of course, InnerSloth has not officially announced any changes to Venting in Among Us. However, new tasks and changes are coming to the new Airship map, so Venting changes could always happen. By allowing crewmates to cover vents, it could make Impostors second guess themselves for using Vent and allow crewmates to fight back a bit more. It would definitely make a cool new feature in Among Us.
