The developers of Among Us have revealed which crewmate colors are the most popular, and which colors players could live without. Among Us is the multiplayer game coming off a wonderful night of validation at The Game Awards 2020, which saw the title richly rewarded for its quality and popularity over the past year.

Among Us doesn't offer a ton of options in the way of customizing one's bean-shaped space explorer, but the game does allow the player to give their character a little bit of personality. There are 12 crewmate colors, 94 possible hats, and 15 different costumes. With the maximum number of players the game allows in one lobby being 10, there will always be two colors that aren't selected, which has prompted a lot of speculation and research about which hues are the most and least popular.

According to the Among Us Twitter, the data shows that red, black, and white are the most frequently used colors. However, Lime, Brown, and Green are the least popular colors of the 12. A red crewmate is primarily used in the promotional artwork for Among Us, and it the frontman for the game's artwork and social media pages. This would make him an obvious pick for players since he is highly favored by the developers. Black is used by popular Among Us content creator CorpseHusband, who has a large and overly enthusiastic fanbase that will likely emulate his color choice in-game.

It may be a little shocking to see Lime, Brown, and Green on the bottom of the list, especially when there's been a lot of debate about the most sus color choices that didn't always include them. Everyone has their own personal preferences when it comes to their favorite color, and it seems that Among Us' player base shares a least favorite color of either Lime, Green, or Brown. With millions of people playing the popular social deduction game, there's bound to be a handful of players that choose Among Us' least popular colors regularly, but the data reveals they are in the minority.

According to Among Us' data points, there is a minuscule population of space-traveling brown bears (using the bear ears costume to pair with the color), and that's sad. Hopefully, these newfound stats will encourage players to switch to less popular colors to help boost the endangered colors' population. If nothing else, the more widespread this data becomes, the more it will add a new layer to the game's ongoing debate about character names, colors, and accessories that come off as more or less sus.
