InnerSloth, the developer behind the hit social deception game Among Us, recently confirmed that new language options will be coming to the mobile and PC title, in addition to a few other neat updates. The new languages will help the game reach an even wider audience, since Among Us has rapidly grown in popularity in the last few months alone.

Among Us was actually released in 2018, but the game saw a huge spike in downloads this year as popular Twitch streamers and YouTubers picked it up. The online multiplayer title sees players secretly take on one of two roles in a team setting - Impostor or Crewmate. As a Crewmate, the goal is to run around a map, complete a list of tasks, and avoid being killed by the Impostor. On the other hand, the Impostor must discreetly kill Crewmates and sabotage the ship. Players try to guess who the killers are. The game has been a great way to stay connected with loved ones during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

InnerSloth plans to keep updating the game in an effort to meet the needs of Among Us' 3 million players. Earlier this week, the developer debuted a Twitter account dedicated to sharing Among Us news. Not much later, the Among Us account revealed that new language options would be heading to the game. InnerSloth confirmed that it is working on getting English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Filipino (Bisaya) supported. More languages were said to be coming later on.

The Twitter page also touched on Among Us' upcoming account system, designed to make it easier to report hackers and toxic players. InnerSloth stated that getting accounts up and running is the "highest priority." Recently, players have seen a rise in the number of hackers and cheaters in Among Us, who often eject fellow players with one vote or spawn copies of themselves. This is perhaps one of the most annoying parts of playing the otherwise fun and friendly game, so it's not too surprising to see account development getting priority.

InnerSloth has proven time and again that it is dedicated to making Among Us as polished and fresh as it can be, and players are certainly grateful. The developer even ditched plans for an Among Us 2 this year in favor of continuing to work on the original game. There's bound to be a ton of awesome new features in store, so fans should keep an eye on the Among Us Twitter account and tune in to The Game Awards 2020 on December 10, where InnerSloth hinted that it will make some big announcements.
