While it may seem farfetched that the Among Us crewmates would make their way into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a new mod allows players to don a crewmate costume to become a true Impostor. Among Us crewmates look like docile creatures while completing their tasks, but when they hit the Super Smash Bros. battlefield, they become ruthless fighters.

Although Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been a popular title for much longer than Among Us, both titles were released in 2018. Among Us failed to find a considerable player base at launch and fell into obscurity until 2020, when big-name streamers began to play with friends. This rush of new players gave Among Us a well-needed second life, and a wholesome community has formed around the game. Many players from other gaming communities have worked to recreate Among Us in games such as Rocket League and Animal Crossing.

Earlier this year, one talented artist recreated the entire Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster as Among Us crewmates, and now the tables have turned, with the crewmates have found their place among that roster. Thanks to a Smash Bros. modder by the name of Endersheep, players are now able to take control of a crewmate on the battlefield. The mod has been posted to popular gaming/mod forum GameBanana, and a showcase of the skin has been uploaded to YouTube.

Like many mods for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Among Us crewmates are a reskin of another character. In this case, the crewmate skin is fitted to the Pac-Man character model. The crewmates primarily use their feet for combat, and another addition to the mod is that Pac-Man's ghost sprites have been replaced with the original Among Us crewmate sprites. Outside of these cosmetic changes, the crewmates have the same move set as Pac-Man. Players can choose from eight different colors of crewmates, and as shown in the video below, an eight-crewmate deathmatch is quite the sight to behold.

This is similar to the Ninja Smash Bros. mod from earlier this year, in that it feels more like a novelty than anything else. It would be cool to see some of the move animations changed as well to reflect some of the kill animations from Among Us, although that is a much greater technical feat than reskinning a character. Regardless, Endersheep's mod allows players to fulfill their dreams of playing as an Among Us crewmate in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
