Every round of Among Us features a random set of tasks that each Crewmate needs to complete as quickly as possible. These tasks can be all over the various maps and can differ in how long they take to finish. Some tasks also require almost no skill to complete, while others can take some practice to get used to.

Determining which tasks are the best in Among Us, as well as which are the absolute worst, is helpful so that Crewmates know what they are getting into at the start of a round. Not every good task in Among Us is the shortest to complete, and not every bad task takes forever. While length is an important factor in evaluating the tasks, factors such as where the task is located or how much fun it is to complete are just as important.

Tasks in dangerous areas will often result in death for a Crewmate, and that could mean that a fairly innocuous task is actually one of the worst in Among Us.

Among Us' Best Tasks In The Game

One of the easiest tasks in Among Us for a Crewmate to complete is to "Chart Course" while in Navigation. All the player needs to do is slide a little spaceship through 4 circles and the task will be marked as finished. If a Crewmate sees a character standing in front of the Chart Course task for an extended period of time they should immediately be suspicious of them, since the actual task takes so little time. Right below "Chart Course" players might also have the "Stabilize Steering" task, another quick job that is arguably even easier than the first. Once players drag the circle onto the cross in the middle of the screen, the task is complete. If a Crewmate begins a round with both of these tasks in navigation, they can expect to be finished earlier than usual.

Another solid tasks that Crewmates can expect to finish quickly is to "Align Engine Output." Even though this task has two separate stages it will not take long, since both are nearby to one another in the Upper and Lower Engine on Among Us' Skeld map. Both stages can be completed very quickly, since all Among Us Crewmates performing the task has to do is match up two dotted lines. The best part of this task in Among Us is that, since the player needs to pass security between the two stages, they have an easy excuse to check cams early so that they can catch an Impostor early on in the round.

Some players might disagree with the next choice, but "Fix Wiring" is actually one of the best tasks in all of Among Us. Although the task itself takes longer than many others to complete, especially when considering all three stages, it has two distinct advantages. Since "Fix Wiring" is one of the most common tasks in the game, as well as available on all three maps, players have a lot of practice completing it. Even the newest Among Us players will have fixed their fair share of wires, and this means that crewmates can knock it out with little issue. The other often forgotten benefit of "Fix Wiring" is the potential for "perfect wires," meaning every color is lined up perfectly with itself during the task. Not only is this a timesaver for the crewmates, but it is also satisfying and a potential good omen for the player who sees it.

Among Us Start Reactor

One of the most inconvenient tasks in Among Us is to "Calibrate Distributor." This task requires the player to correctly time three clicks as the grey notch on the circles align with the buttons to the side. Calibration can be frustrating because if a player messes up on the last circle, they will have to begin again at the start. This task also lives in electrical, which is potentially the most dangerous room in all of Among Us. Crewmates generally try to keep their time spent in Electrical to a minimum, but this task can often keep a player there long enough for an Impostor to find an opening and attack. To top it all off, "Calibrate Distributor" counts as a "short task," meaning crewmates have to deal with it instead of some of the quickest tasks in the game.

Exclusive to Among Us' Polus map, the "Fix Weather Node" task may be the most frustrating of all. In the first stage, crewmates are require to travel to one of six possible locations so that they can reset the node. This entails dragging a white line through a gray maze, and a wrong turn will result in the player needing to restart. Crewmates who use a mouse likely have little issue when trying to complete this task, but mobile players will be familiar with how difficult it can be. With a player's fingers in the way, it can be hard to see where the line is supposed to go next. Players can also easily overshoot the spot where they were supposed to change direction, meaning they have to restart. Even though the second stage of the task is very easy, the first makes it one of the hardest in the game for mobile players.

Easily the most infamous task in the game, "Start Reactor" is the worst task in all of Among Us. Native to all three maps, start reactor requires the player to play a memorization game where they click the squares that correspond with what appears on screen. Players have to do this sequence a total of five times in a row, and it becomes increasingly difficult by the 5th part. Not only does this task take longer than almost any other in the game, but it also requires more attention and skill than most other tasks. One of the worst feelings in all of Among Us is being called to a meeting in the middle of "Start Reactor," and since it can take so long to complete it's possible this can happen more than once. Impostors can also easily kill players during this task, and since it appears on all three maps players are likely to deal with it more often than they hope.

Every player has their own opinion on which Among Us are fun or not, and that disagreement is one of the things that makes the game so fun. With the release of a new Among Us map on the horizon, players can anticipate a set of new tasks that will either excite crewmates or frustrate them to no end.
